No, they have the attitude of some people who play retail. Lumping everyone into one box isn’t going to do anyone any favors.
It could be, actually. If someone finally found a group LFM (dps, for example) and then asked to join, and then was rejected based on gear, and then they couldn’t run another dungeon for whatever reason (time constraints, namely) then yes, they would be keeping you from running a dungeon.
The go go go attitude is directly related to Mythic+.
denying classes isn’t a statement of some sort that they think the content is hard.
what you’re describing isn’t a “retail” attitude. I dont know what trait you’re trying to link to people who play retail.
100% false.
I’m confused…if someone doesn’t have time to press ‘Request to Join’ on another group in LFG after getting a decline, then they don’t have time to do the dungeon… And if they don’t have time to the dungeon, there’s always tomorrow
I was chain running that with a pally tank, 2 DK dps, a spriest, and my druid healing, and it was fine.
If it’s 3am, and only one group is LFM - no one else is in the tool, or even interested in running anything, or it’s all DPS, no heals, no tanks, whatever the scenario is.
If that group rejects you based on gear, and you can’t find another group, then yes, by definition, they ARE causing you the inability to run a dungeon.
That go go go existed before Mythic was even a concept they were considering. I remember very much having to chase tanks that acted like their rear end was on fire many expansions before Mythic.
That’s not happening right now, there are dozens of groups running each dungeon even late at night I was playing till 3AM last night
Maybe later in the life cycle this will be an issue, but right now you can get into any dungeon you want. Sweaty players, or otherwise.
Of course it’s happening right now.
Even if it wasn’t, it still means that groups that decide to decline you based on gear CAN actually cause you to not be able to run a dungeon.
Isn’t Retail supposed to be the game where everyone plays homogenized classes with equal strengths and no one excels in anything because the game hands you loot?
What you’re describing has been the Classic attitude since private servers. Min-max everything, discard all the weak classes and power through the game. That’s Classic.
“Classic” and private servers don’t go hand-in-hand here.
Unless you’re server is entirely dead, you are able to get into a Nexus group right now. If you’re personally struggling I think you may not be fully aware of how the group building process works. I wrote a guide about it if this helps:
He is a tank, I am pretty sure he is being a contrarian.
Again, “right now” includes it being “prime time” - this does not include 3am. Additionally, most realms die off past prime time, especially into the earlier hours of the morning, because most people sleep, believe it or not.
What? Group-building hasn’t changed since Vanilla first launched.
I think I’ve read some pieces of it, and it doesn’t help.
If you’re a tank please elaborate on how you specifically are struggling to get a group together for Nexus, and I’ll help
I think Wrath might have literally the easiest dungeons in the history of WoW.
I can’t imagine being the kind of person who would try to ‘optimize’ that.
Who said ANYTHING about me struggling to get groups?
Then I’m not clear what you’re looking for here. I just checked on my server and there are 30 people looking for Nexus groups right now, 3 tanks, 5 healers. At 3AM sure there will be less, but to say it’s impossible is just untrue I did VH last night around that time no problem, no gatekeeping. The rogue I took couldn’t even figure out how to open the door but that’s ok!
Megaserver is talking.
When I checked how many groups there were in LFG at 3 AM there was a whopping 2.
