Something that was brought up in a discord I frequent is how patterns that use Nexus Crystals were only usable when Cenarian Circle rep was introduced. So what I am curious about is if Nexus Crystals are going to be present prior to phase 5 even though they will have no purpose until then? As far as I know, most things determined in phases usually have to be attached to a reputation or the presented progressive itemization. Nexus Crystals are not really attached to either of these as they could be obtained right out of the gate despite having no purpose.
Nexus Crystals were added in 1.9. However, the choice of what to disenchant into is a system, so I would expect not to have any of the patterns, but be able to DE into Crystals, from the get go.
This may actually change the early enchanting meta, since LBS would be far harder to come by for a raiding toon and they’d have to go back into lower dungeons for it.
Yeah, this kind of bothers me. Obviously the easy path is stockpile the crystals which has my mind saying “dude… take the easy way. It’s all cool”, but I know that I don’t really want this. I suppose until something is confirmed in the beta which will be a bit late in, this conversation could be jumping the shark. I just figure it would be better if Nexus Crystals were attached with Phase 5 as to not devalue them from over-farming. Just would not feel Vanilla like to have 100+ Nexus Crystals at ready to enchant gear.
Classic is not Vanilla. There will be changes. Given that by the time AQ came out, most of Molten Core’s gear was being DE’d without contest however, there was never really a shortage of Nexus Crystals for raiding groups.
I am not saying there wasn’t. Just that if you consider how long it will take for AQ to release on top of the time it will take to obtain the Cenarion reputation. That is a mind boggling amount of Nexus Crystals. I would be shocked to see any on the AH that are higher than 1 silver if this becomes the case.
Like I know Classic is not Vanilla, but it is suppose to uphold values that Vanilla had. I don’t think one of those values was stockpiling a useless enchant mat for 9 major patches.
So my question is: Has anyone answered anywhere whether Nexus Crystals are going to be available from disenchanting anytime soon?
Just trying to decide if I should stockpile epics already or not lol
