I’m still holding out for a firestone rune. Could definitely be used by warlock tanks, but I want it for DPS so I can get thunderfury prio

Immolation Aura
Something that buffs Firestone/Spellstone (We tend to melee as well during Searing Pain)

But then your next solution for “AoE” is Eye Beam or a rune that augments Meta further.
Also by level 40 we have a few options: Deep into Siphon Life or deep into Soul Link
Demo: You utlize your Voidwalker to help you tank
Affliction: You multi dot and get what you can, the other tank gets more.
Destruction: Fire Immunity sucks but there might be a rune around this later, who knows.
Either way Meta tanking has potential and people just dont use their imagination.

Drain life, corruption, and shadow cleave by themselves doesn’t generate nearly enough threat. More likely we’ll see a rune that causes our fire damage spells to deal shadowflame damage, but that won’t be an issue till phase 4 so don’t be surprised if we don’t see that rune anytime soon.
As for immolation aura, nah. We’ll have hellfire in the next phase so i’m not worried about AoE threat. What i would like is a rune that gives us some spell push back protection to make it less of a pain to keep up incinerate.

If you use that while you have agro you are probably only going to get 1 tick if that due to the lack of spell pushback.

That will be the day when they make that skill useful.
The idea I had for one is something along the lines of “Your weapon’s ‘chance on hit’ effects make your next Soul Fire instant cast and not expend a soul shard”

Meta can always just change it into Immolation Aura and it stops being a channel and more of a set it and forget it till cooldown.
Talents + conc aura or earth shield can make you immune to pushback while hellfiring.
they could change Immolate Aura damage type to chaos and change it’s name to Demonic Aura or something, way better to not worry about mob immunity
agree with this, if its change into chaos type we dont need to worry about fire elemental mobs, also i agree with hellfire become hellfire aura in demonic form

They could do a rune that has Firestone mimic your main hand as offhand, grant hit rating. Basically “Demon Hunter” build. Even same for Spellstone and buff it so it doesnt remove buffs and just affect Debuffs.

100% Absolutely, transition stuff to Chaos damage.
Literally people have 0 imagination and cant figure this out. The fact the Meta Rune did what it did as it stand should go to tell everyone whats going to happen for 40/50/60 as well as beyond.
Now, where is that Gladiator Rune.
I really don’t understand this notion of pushing meta locks to become demon hunter tanks. We have, for the first time in wow’s history, a fully realized caster tank. Let’s not turn it into a bastardized retail style tank.
