Next round of changes, Hero talents are in:

WARRIOR

  • Hero Talents

    • Colossus

      • New Talent: Decimator – Demolish’s final strike applies Deep Wounds to all targets at 100% effectiveness.

      • New Talent: Cut to the Bone – Mortal Strike/Shield Slam critical strikes increase your Rend and Deep Wounds damage by 50% for 8 seconds.

      • New Talent: Celeritous Conclusion – Demolish’s final strike grants10% Haste for 10 seconds and increases the critical strike chance of your next Mortal Strike/Shield Slam by 100%.

    • Mountain Thane

      • New Talent: Storm Surge – Avatar increases the damage of Thunder Clap by 50% and reduces its cooldown by 50%.

      • New Talent: Conductivity – Lightning Strike damage increased by 10% and critical strike damage increased by 10%.

      • New Talent: Capacitance –During Avatar Thunder Blast extends Avatar’s duration by 2 seconds.

    • Slayer

      • New Talent: Violent Euphoria – Bladestorm puts you into a battle trance, granting you 15% Haste for 8 seconds after you stop Bladestorming.

      • New Talent: Deadly Focus – Executioner’s Duration is increased by 6 seconds.

      • New Talent: Unhinged – Every 2 strikes of Bladestorm, you automatically cast a Mortal Strike or Bloodthirst at your target or random nearby enemy, dealing 100% of normal damage.

      • Slayer’s Dominance has been updated – Slayer’s Strike now grants you a stack of Executioner, increasing your Execute damage by 3% for 12 seconds. Multiple stacks of Executioner may overlap.

      • Show No Mercy has been updated – Executioner also increases your Execute critical strike chance and critical strike damage by 3% per stack.

      • Unrelenting Onslaught has been updated – Using Execute causes you to both reduce the cooldown of Bladestorm by 3 seconds and apply 1 stack of Overwhelmed to your primary target for each stack of Executioner you have.

  • Class

    • New Talent: Field Dressing – Healing received increased by 3% and all self-healing increased by an additional 10%.

    • New Talent: Fearless – Cooldown of Berserker Rage is reduced by 50% and Berserker Rage removes all movement speed-impairing effects. Choice node with Berserker Shout.

    • New Talent: Javelineer – Storm Bolt, Shattering Throw, Wrecking Throw, and Champion’s Spear apply Hamstring to all affected targets, reducing their movement speed by 50% for 15 seconds.

    • Champion’s Spear has been redesigned – Throw a spear at the target location, chaining all enemies in the area to the spear’s location and dealing Physical damage instantly and additional Physical damage over 6 seconds. While the spear is active, activating this ability will cause you to leap to the spear, slamming down to deal Physical damage to all targets. All damage dealt reduced beyond 5 targets. Generates 10 Rage.

      • Developer’s notes: The previous iteration was an experiment to see if a softer version of a pull-in effect would be useful. We don’t feel that this was a success, so we’re trying another approach to Champion’s Spear that leans into Warrior’s natural mobility and providing a new tool for engagement or gap-closing.
    • Intimidating Shout has been updated – Enemies other than the primary target are no longer feared in place, but flee from the Warrior, however, their movement speed is reduced by 70%. Now on a choice node with Piercing Howl.

      • Developers’ notes: We’re experimenting with many of Warrior’s iconic shouts to give them more utility in more situations. Here we’re adding a snare to Intimidating Shout to make it less risky to use in dungeon and open-world content, and positioning it against Piercing Howl with a similar snare, but a movement speed buff for allies. We’re interested to see what new uses players come up with for these abilities.
    • Honed Reflexes now has an additional effect – Successfully interrupting an enemy increases the damage you deal to them by 5% for 10 seconds.

    • Battlefield Commander has been updated:

      • Rallying Cry: Increases the health granted by Rallying Cry by an additional 2% and increases its duration by 3 seconds. No longer grants movement speed or Leech.

      • Berserker Shout: Radius increased by 100% (was 8 yards).

    • Barbaric Training has been updated – Slam, Whirlwind, and Thunder Clap damage increased by 10% (was 20%) and critical strike damage increased by 5% (was 10%). Now a 2-point talent.

    • Thunder Clap will now automatically apply Rend to 5 targets if talented into Rend.

    • Crushing Force is now a 2-point talent.

    • The talent tree layout has been updated and many talents have changed positions.

      • Developers’ notes: We are continuing to iterate on the Warrior class tree goals, aiming to add more utility to the Warrior class tree to allow for different playstyles and builds for different types of content.
    • The following talents have been removed:

      • Blood and Thunder

        • Developer’s notes: Rend is an iconic core Warrior ability and we want it to be available to all Warriors. However, we’d like to find a balance between Rend being applied by Thunder Clap (and thus Thunder Clap being required for all Warrior builds), and Rend being added as an active button to all builds, even those that use Thunder Clap. The previous iteration of a choice between Rend and Blood and Thunder was deemed to be unnecessarily confusing, so we’re simplifying things. If Protection and Mountain Thane warriors (or any others that enjoy the fantasy) want to use Rend, they simply take Rend and continue using Thunder Clap, whereas other specs can have access to AOE Rend without needing to invest in Thunder Clap or incorporate it into their rotations.
      • Cacophonous Roar

      • Concussive Blows

      • Deft Strikes

      • Menace

  • Fury

    • Bloodborne no longer requires Bloodthirst to critically strike. All targets hit by Bloodthirst will take additional damage from your bleeds.

Lots to take in here, but I like all the Hero talents. MT is exactly what it needed.

Slayer changes are awesome, I like that it stacks on you and not the target. Was hoping for a talent that made Bladestorm work with Anger Management.

Colossus seems a little weak.

I have to see the new spear in action!

Fearless and Field Dressing should be fantastic in PvP

Hero talents are fantastic.

I like how Colossus has added it’s S3 set bonus and even added Deep Wounds application on the 3rd Demolish hit as well to further provide synergy with the auto MS crit that’ll amp bleeds for a short duration. Definitely helpful additions to fix it’s shortcomings in ST.

Slayer’s got some nice synergistic options being added in too.

Thane is interesting, not too keen to see Unstoppable Force returning as Storm Surge. I was actually happy that it was pruned due to how it overcentralised onGCD economy for prot warriors to an absurd degree.
But I understand that it’s a good way to ensure Lightning Blast procs can be utilised properly within the Avatar window to avoid overcapping them so it’s fine that it’s apart of the hero talent tree itself rather than something you had to talent into elsewhere. But the same could be done if Thunderclap was given a charge system so it could bank up to say 2 charges so those procs could be used b2b rather than it needing a talent like this that causes negatives in being able to spend rage offensively with onGCD abilities.

Class tree is a mess of a dog’s breakfast which I’ve got some harsh words for.

Blizzard removes in for the kill and unhinged just to add then again in the “““““““““new”””””””” hero talent rows, as ““““new””

Absolute laziness

And right, Decimator is just colossus tier set, yay i guess.

Couldnt they just buff second wind? did we need this?

Major W change

we literally lost all the utility they gave us. No more movement speed on rallying cry. And no one is going to take piercing howl now. This is crazy. Why would they try to give us utility then remove it all

I wish I could play thane and reckless abandon together

I put some Class Tree feedback in the public alpha forum.

  • Short version is that the top of the tree pathing is finally pretty good, though the bottom of the tree is horribly oversaturated with two-point damage nodes.

Likewise, some Hero talent feedback also in the public Alpha forum.

  • Most of the new talents are solid, though there are a couple lackluster additions that could be changed to better differentiate and specialize the three heroes.

These changes are so bad, like why is Anger management blocked by a useless 2 point talent that everyone dodges like the plague since release. These changes are not being made in good faith, this is just removing fun. Like are you telling me M+ will only have tank busters every 3 minutes? I was so excited for midnight but now its a pass. Wake me up when someone with a brain takes over.

stares angrily at rampaging berserker

Fury is cooked as long as that talent stays as is.

I’m not really feeling the spear change, it comes to the old situation of having to throw your spear exactly in the right spot and not in any danger puddles (from having to stand in the spear, to having to jump to the spears location). The light pull in seemed funner to me.

Edit: Making intimidating shout a shared talent with piercing howl is painful, i see why, but still makes me every so slightly sad

Hero talent changes are a W.

General tree is… a mess.

Bottom half has way too many damage nodes, no real choice. Sims will dictate that.

The new spear is just… why? They could have made spear into a true aoe grip (Similar to sigil of chains) imo if they wanted to.

I do like the choice node to have zerker rage remove movement impairing effects. Does this work with roots as well?

Some good here, but also some bad.

Hopefully they rethink the new utility spell changes.

Reads like a major downgrade from the initial good direction.

You understand that this gives us these talents for free where we had to pick them with valuable talent points before?

Is this basically the Barbarian ability from Diablo? Leap in and pulls everything close to you?

You understand my point is another, you are just arguing something i didnt even mention right.

Can you keep it up?

Im not familiar with diablo but i dont think so, you throw the spear at a range, and you can use the same button again for a leap to where the spear is

You mean your laziness point? I call this efficiency.

You can cope whatever you like, its because people like you blizzard can do crap with warriors every new expansion and do the bare minimum.

Reads like the mass grip isn’t apart of it anymore and goes back to it’s live version of just being an Ursol’s vortex with a second ability press that makes you jump into it for slightly less damage than a Cleave.

This isn’t looking good exactly.

I hope that whatever they do - they make the damage aspect of spear not important.

Beyond that, I agree with many that this extra leap idea isn’t exciting either.

I watched the video Archi posted in the discord. Very lack-luster and seems pretty pointless in general now.
