I said infinite dragon flight will likely be the means by which we transition into the next expansion and blizzard has been baiting them since bfa and seeded them into dragon isles conflict since 10.0. And infinite dragon flight is a void aligned thing so I imagine after we deal with the elemental bad guys we’ll be moving on to deal with the ifninite dragon flight which will be the cause of the next expansion.
NOrzdormu seems somewhat stoic but wary of his coming transition to morozond and we’ve got all this shadow flame corrupting stuff and other stuff that could do it. I would have kind of hoped that his motivations would be more clear.
The only thing I was wrong about in my predictions was I expected ifninite dragon flight to be a big deal in the final patch.
The infinite dragon flight and dread lords are interdimensional schemers and make for easy plot points/hooks/mcguffins and whatever. So they can go anywhere with it.
my guess is kalecgos is corrupted wanting to protect his friends
during the campaign he completely messes up a teleport and almost kills us but is able to cast slow fall and we get another glimpse into his whole “i won’t let others die under me” side plot he’s got going on
just needs some old god influence and he’s blue neltharion
Their haven’t been anything data-mined yet. But if they are including Scourge tabards, they might created some Great Glorious Alliance and Blood Horde tabards to go along with the timelines.
Interesting that the newly canonized legendary weapon is the staff of Eonar. Also, its fragment is the only one called “anomalous” instead of “paracausal.” There was also High Keeper Orendi “Hand of Freya” datamined. I wonder if she is somehow related to Eonar’s staff.
Apparently we win against Iridikron but are forced to go back on that to save Nozdormu from becoming Murozond.
In otherwords Iridikron’s weapon created the Infinite Dragonflight and now that he has it in his own possession.
Murozond is basically an AU created by us attempting to prevent a Timeline Alteration only for the resulting pure Timeline forcing us to allow the Timeline Alteration in order to prevent the creation of Murozond.
Funny how Aman’Thul noticed both Timelines and while stating that the True Timeline must be preserved and that there are those who would have there be 2 True Timelines he does not actually say that the 2nd True Timeline must be prevented.
By using careful exact words he ensured that both the 1st and 2nd Timelines would be True Timelines while not tipping his hand off to Nozdormu.
The 1st Timeline had to be preserved in order to ensure the creation of the 2nd Timeline. By making sure that the Timeline remained as is until Iridikron’s scheme was initiated the 1st Timeline was preserved to create the Infinite Dragonflight giving reason to prevent that Timeline creating the 2nd Timeline.
The Timeline we play through is the Thousand Truths while the Infinite Dragonflight Timeline is the One Truth. Both valid and necessary to each other’s existence.
The One Truth is that the Timeline that created the Infinite Dragonflight must exist in order to create the Timeline that erases it. The Thousand Truths are all the moments of said Timeline that erases the Timeline of the Infinite Dragonflight.
Honestly, I really wish Blizzard would devote some time to crafting short-stories about these alternate timelines and the characters in them. Granted the only downside to that is we barely get enough time for characters in the main timeline as is, but I would still love to learn more about some of these, ‘could have been,’ type scenarios. Quite a few are very thought-provoking.
The one where the Scourge emerge victorious in particular strikes me as particularly fascinating given Uther’s role. Just when did the timeline deviate? Did Arthas raise Uther as a Death Knight? Did Ner’zhul choose Uther over Arthas? Did Arthas fall and Kel’thuzad raised Uther to replace him?
