BFA was about 9 months from announcement to release date Shadowlands was about 12 months.
Are we looking at about a January 2023 release date time frame for the next expansion?
Definitely next year considering that the alpha isn’t even up yet.

Given all the shake ups and fallout over BFA/SL and leadership, plus Microsoft acquisition I think they’re going to be pressed hard to try to get it as right as possible. They also have WOTLK to prop up subs and give them a bit of extra time, which people expect late this year.
I really don’t think they can afford a third poorly received expansion in a row. If they actually abandon trying to create a massively complex set of systems like they have since Legion they may be able to get it out more timely. If they don’t and keep doubling down they better delay it as long as possible. The hard part of this equation is that even if WoW feels like it’s flailing from a player perception financially speaking is another matter and with all the shop options they have available these days the leadership may be perfectly content with pumping out garbage quickly that nets them more money from a smaller playerbase.
Given this is the final raid tier and expansion lulls have lasted up to and over 1 year its pretty hard to say. A January release date is a pretty reasonable guess, if that doesn’t happen then I’d say a summer release is more likely.

That’s for wrath classic launch. Sunwell can’t last forever for that crowd. But that’s a Wednesday anyways so it won’t drop then.

I honestly want them to surprise me with this announcement and tell me it will be out this year.
At this rate, quite possibly an early 2023.
It’s not to say they wouldn’t be able to put out an expansion late 2022.
Just feel it’s unlikely at this point, their main development for SL was messed up due to all sort’sa things. Delays for the various games as well…

We have a 9.2.5 coming at some point so im gonna say very late 2022 or early 2023. My bet is on Dec 2022.
it depends when alpha is if its june there will be at least 5-6 months of alpha/beta witch will put it around dec but they all go on vacation around that time.i would expect them to push it back after their dec vacation.
i would expect a jan/feb/march 2023 launch date.
At least a year from now or more.
