We talk about button bloat for abilities, for me one of the annoying things is the excessive bloat of crafting trees.
Do we really need 4 trees in each craft? It would have made it so much more manageable if they simply cut down from 4 to 3 and made each of the trees more useful and interesting.
Take Inscription for example: the Darkmoons could have been added to Careful Carvings with the trinket creation improved to make the trinkets as useful as the staves and offhand are. Getting the cards through drops would seem to be an improvement; I dunno about anyone else but I found this unpredictable and unreliable. Making something you can work on, good idea - hoping for something to drop at some point that is also useful seems a degradation. And they need to work more on making the card items good because as it stands they cant be upgraded, unlike your other crafted gear. The card itself is a decent trink but its level 80, cant be improved and the reason for that? I dunno, maybe somebody can tell me.
I don’t mind in principle the idea of working on professions through gaining experience and applying it, but the design of the crafting trees needs some serious work. Some of the stuff put in just looks like fillers; either make thinks useful and upgradeable and better through the whole expansion, or dont put them in at all. I mean, Contracts - seriously? 5 rep per WQ? At least give the damned things ranks so you can improve them to give more rep.
Anyhow, I love professions, I just hope I continue to love them.
