I’m already a bard. Sexually speaking anyways. My next big money maker will be replacing all the race with the financially superior half goblins and take over azeroth. Anyways there isn’t a race on or off azeroth I won’t reproduce with, Half old god? Half venthyr? Half Draenei? Half Sayaad? Half Arroaka? Half Titan? Yep… they’re all gonna be goblins.
If they do either, we’ll see a civil war.
And to me… both are dumb.
I also don’t want anymore classes. They don’t even have time to work on all of the ones we currently have.
People have said this since before DKs were added.
Bard is cringe and gross. The people that like them always seem like they’re hiding something.
I’m not talking about balancing. I’m talking about the fact that classes get left behind in expansions now, because they ran out of time. Shamans still haven’t recovered.
“Give a coin to your witcher!”
Ok, so let’s say they actually do put another class in. Could be a bard, could be anything else. Just one problem:
Legion.
So much of that expansion is tied into the class halls. Blizzard would literally need to make a class hall, campaign, and artifact weapons for anything new and retroactively add it into Legion, and as things currently stand new players aren’t even going to see that content as I’m sure Shadowlands is going to take BfA’s place for 1-60 leveling in whatever the next expansion winds up being. It just seems like a ton of effort for something that likely isn’t going to be getting much playtime from anyone other than a completionist. Granted, it might revive the Legion content for a bit via Chromie Time, but once again it’s a ton of work to add in relevant Legion content for any new classes.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see a new class down the road, but in hindsight the overall design of Legion might have very well been the writing on the wall in regards to anything new getting added :-/
At this point, I’d say fourth specs (third for DH) would be far more likely to bring everyone in line with druids, or perhaps even a limited multi-class system that gives your main class access to some of the basic skills of another non-hero class (can’t pick DK/DH as your second class)
Perhaps instead of another ten levels in the next expansion, we pick a second class. We retain our level 60 stats, but the leveling experience for the next expansion is 1-25 for our secondary class with stats reflecting total level (For example, a level 70 character could be something like a 60 Warrior/10 mage)
Honestly it doesn’t seem that hard for blizzard to just not give a new class anything class hall related. If you want to level through legion as this hypothetical new class you just only get to do the stuff that didn’t directly tie into a class hall. Problem solved. Or perhaps problem bypassed.
That might sound simple on paper, but when you consider how much of Legion and the quest chains were tied into the halls, I don’t think that’ll be possible in practice.
It’s definitely a Blizzcon Q&A question in my mind. Something extremely interesting and thought provoking:
“Do you have any plans to eventually add another class, and if so, would the game design of Legion require you to retroactively give it a full Legion campaign and hall?”
Hence why it’ll never be asked since some people would rather waste time asking about night elf eyebrows.
Don’t remember what Blizzcon it was, but some chick blew the last question on what amounted to “Can you change NE eyebrows?” when everyone else was asking about possible future races, lore theories, ect.
You could even see the guy that was behind her in line appearing mildly annoyed once she stepped away and they said that they were out of time.
Perhaps you’re right but I don’t think it would end up being that big of a deal. And even if it is that big of a deal I think blizzard would just find some other workaround, like that class can’t level through legion or something. Doesn’t seem that bad when there are so many options in chromie time.
New classes generate a lot of hype and blizz knows that. New classes have happened before and I don’t see any convincing reasons that they won’t happen in the future.
If they make Bard, I hope it’s like Sheik.
Shamans have ALWAYS been the red headed stepchild. Besides the fact that on recent sims but enha and ele are doing GREAT!
No they aren’t going to add legacy content. If you go back to do legion then you won’t get an order hall. Those quests just won’t exist. The dungeons and other zones will. Your arguement makes as much sense as saying blizz should add old raid tiers of class armor for new clases.
Hopefully we get bard next.
Official answer: No.
While the new class could still level using chromie time in legion zones they were be limited as they will be unable to access any class related content as such it is not recommended. However if they so choose to the zones themselves should be able to get them to level 50.
Like some folks from Boston once said: it’s now or never, take a chance on rock and roll
Better start practicing some paradiddles and Hanon exercises!
A seasoned veteran, lol
Hopefully we don’t
We have been getting bard hints since Legion.
That doesn’t make them any less cringe
