[News] Exalt in the Impressive Influence 100% Bonus Reputation Buff: April 20 – May 18

Does Blizzard have some person whose official job is, “take a good idea others on the team are implementing and add one bad thing to make it less appealing?” Dumb idea to exclude the 8.3 reputations.

I was all for keeping the XP buff and the rep buff isn’t much use to me because this toon is the only one I care to max reps with.

But watching grown people throw a fit like this is just…wow.

I need that Rustbolt rep for essence 3 purifcation, so this might help.

make a XP too please, rep is boring grind

People still farming paragon boxes for mounts in Legion. Using veiled Argunite for transmog.

Got my shoulders from a relinquished token. Twice.

Extend the XP buff. It’s the only thing that will keep subs.

Not really useless, as I am sure people will use the buff to help gain reps they need for their goals.

I am definitely gonna use it to help my Pandaren Warrior unlock the rest of the Class hall set since the last 3 pieces I need for the set are rep gated (Honor with Nightfallen, Revered with 2 factions, and Exalted with Nightfallen).

But it is kinda underwhelming, I’d rather them keep the XP buff going alongside this buff. But oh well.

I guess that’s fair enough.
Definitely not staying subbed for the ability to roll a dice a bit more frequently myself, but glad for collectionists.

Please extend the xp buff.
The rep buff isn’t worth much since it doesn’t include Rajani and Uldum accord.

To bad its just locked in to just BFA/Legion. Should go back to Vanilla. Speed up all those sluggish grinds XD

Plz rethink that decision. The rep buff is good and all but doesn’t really compare to the XP buff in terms of getting people interested in playing the game. We need Wow to help us deal with the quarantine, and leveling other characters is a lot more engaging than farming rep. Help the community!!!

I wish my Kul Tiran female looked like that.

That’s the only thought from me.

I want to urge Blizzard to reconsider not including Rajani or Uldum Accord in this buff.

From what I can see there’s absolutely no reason not to include them. Looking at the vendors for each faction, I don’t see any player power gamebreaking enough to require them to be any slower than the other reputations.

The stated marketing includes “…or adding a new pet or mount to your collection”, which is one of the primary benefits of getting Uldum Accord and Rajani to Exalted and doing their paragons. The only player power I can see are the Rank 3 Essences and the Rune Augment item, and I don’t really see how gating those from players at this stage helps the raiding scene.

These are also some of the slowest reputations to gain in Battle for Azeroth. The 8.0 reputations has Mission Table rep rewards, world quests that are affected by the 50% bonus we get every couple of months, and a guaranteed 1500 rep from the Emissary every week. By contrast, the 8.3 reputations have no Mission Table rewards, are NOT affected by the World Quest Event rep buff, and every second week you only get 1000 rep from the Emissary equivalent. You have to put a lot more work into the 8.3 reputations for the same reward you’d get from the 8.0 and 8.2 reputations.

It’s also, frankly, bizarre that apparently Talon’s Vengeance and the bee mount factions are going to be benefiting from this buff, but not the current reputations.

I get the 8.3 factions are the current ones, but I went from extreme excitement and relief upon seeing this news to annoyed and disappointed in the course of reading the article. I’m done with every reputation prior to 8.3, so this buff is essentially meaningless to me. And the justification for it being meaningless is, as far as I can see, just a desire to keep people doing the Assaults for weeks longer - rather than letting people finish their rep grinds and get to playing fun parts of the game again.

You can get BoA rep tokens (from order hall table) on your exalted characters and send them over to other characters to quickly get them to cap. No effort needed besides order hall resources/blood of sargeras. Works faster if you have multiple characters already exalted.

Can we keep do buff too please?

I’m really glad to see more of these types of events going on. Thanks! As many others have stated keep the xp buff going.

What’s it hurting at the end of an xpack? Make it the last hurrah for the old leveling system and keep it until SL leveling revamp goes live.

Way to spit in players’ faces. No one cares about rep, especially since you couldn’t even be generous enough to include every rep lmao.

Most people do have flying. Most people have their allied races, and if they don’t, they’re getting them for FREE in Shadowlands.

You had no reason to remove the experience buff. No point in playing anymore, since leveling alts was primarily all I was doing.

Aww I was excited to see 100% Bonus til May 19th then I read the article lol.

People want to level alts and a rep buff, while nice, does not help if you’re working on lower level characters. This one is nice for returning players or people i=without Pathfinder yet, I guess. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

I find levelling just as unbearable with 100% bonus.

Making thing fasterer does no make things funerer-- despite common flawed statements to the contrary. In order to do that changes actually have to be made to the content itself.

Oh just you all wait, a year into Shadowlands and the plastic sheen of the squish will wear away, and people will be complaining once again about the sorry state of levelling. Why? Well for the same reason, squishing the numbers isn’t actually doing anything about the problem-- namely the empty mindless state of the questing and combat itself. It’s FAR too easy and there’s absolutely no sense of community and connection to the world-at-large.

As I like to say, watching paint drying for 10 minutes isn’t ‘more fun’ than watching it for 20. The solution isn’t reducing the time spent watching paint dry, the solution is fixing the activity.
