I don’t get the anger towards Horde from Alliance.
You literally cannot even play different class on the same character in this game, unlike FFXIV. You literally need to make a different character for EACH AND EVERY SINGLE CLASS.
Want to play priest and warrior? Well, you need two separate characters already. Which is something I resent for the record, but apparently everyone here thinks that is great. So take advantage of this “perk”.
I was originally learning to play this game years ago before I quit on Alliance playing Worgen.
Now I came back to unlick Vulpera, unlicked them and now I am full time Horde.
If playing Alliance is such misery… it’s simple… just make a horde character? Honestly though everyone overcomplicates this.

ADDING THIS EDIT
Coming from FFXIV I’d agree with this, factions are awful.
I’d probably run a Kul’Tiran druid and everything else on Vulpera. Which sucks because Kul’Tiran is Alliance only and Vulpera is horde only.
I hate factions myself, NGL I wish they’d be abolished. But the WoW devs are obviously stubborn and determined to be “Right” even when they are wrong. Look at current state of BFA, WoD, etc.
I guess that comes into the question of: Who is it that really wants to stay on Alliance?
Who is selfish here? The person that doesn’t want to play the clearly argued to be inferior faction, or the person DEMANDING that everyone stays because they refuse to leave?
To me, the selfish one is the person forcing people to be on the inferior faction in spite of people on these forums clearly saying it’s inferior (I couldn’t care less, honestly, I am new and have no real ties to Alli)…
No matter how much one faction is superior, No matter how much logic there is behind changing factions.
Some people just enjoy a particular race or fantasy. And that’s ok! They shouldn’t have to give up playing the races they love just to be on the better faction.
If it isn’t clear, this matter affects me personally. The faction imbalance drove our guild Horde. And many of us are happier here.
The few that aren’t as happy know that the horde is better, but they miss their favorite races. It’s not their fault they like what they like.
This is a problem many people have to face. Play the race you want, or play with your friends. It’s not something anyone should have to experience.
Blizzard should fix it.
All the faction issues could be easily solved simply by removing the factions altogether. this may have been nice at one point, but right now the faction bs is just being stretched and it has stopped making sense a long time ago. Every expansion we fight together for a common goal only to immediately start fighting each other again because for some reason that’s supposed to be fun? Like, really, it feels forced, feels like Blizzard keeps trying to find lame reasons to keep both sides hating each other but at the same time having to work with each other, just get rid of the factions and let us all be friends.
It’s not that simple. You’re talking about people with over a decade of playing. The sentimental value some of these players place on the name of their character, their class, their realm, the banner that flies above their head is like the attachment someone develops for a pet. Would you tell someone whose dog died to just get another dog?
Well I for one am an RPer, I enjoy the stories with these toons, and I don’t tend to run a lot of alts anyway–I like to make one or two stories, and then focus on fleshing them out as much as possible.
I’ve also had poor experiences with the Horde community in the past, and have known others to say the same. It makes me take pause before even considering going all in on the Horde.
I don’t like the Horde’s story and BFA did plenty of work to emphasize that feeling. I don’t mean the burning of Teldrassil or Sylvanas or anything like that, but the sheer impotence of those members in the Horde that believed Sylvanas was wrong, and did nothing about it until the very end.
This topic is begging the question. There are two factions in WoW, with different aesthetics, stories, and cultures, that appeal to different people. Quite simply–there shouldn’t be an empirically right or wrong faction to faction to join–only what’s right for a given player. When Blizzard makes decision after decision that flies in the face of this, you better believe I’m going to say something about it, and I won’t apologize for it either.
The best reason for the faction divide to come down.
If there’s imbalance, some people are gonna have to just tough it out to stay playing the race they like.
But if the faction divide went away, they could still play the character they love, and have 100% access to all the other players.
No, but my dog died and I eventually did get a new one. My current dog will NEVER replace my old one. Never. Ever. Ever. They are two completely different animals to me. I love them both for very different reasons.
But if playing Alliance is misery it’s time to let it go like Elsa from Frozen.
Some people are stubborn They are one reason why Blizz can’t just delete the lowest like say 20 realms and put all the players on a new realm. They’d rather just suffer than faction/realm transfer.
