Hello all,
I just leveled this character to 60 (Arms) and I had some real issues fighting elite mobs for certain quests. Wanted posters and such. My damage is fantastic, but if I’m not constantly killing mobs for Victory Rush I just didn’t have enough sustain to kill some elites.
I’ve previously leveled a Frost DK and Ret Paladin, and they seem to have endless self heals, so I’m wondering if I’m just missing something. Outside of Die by the Sword, do we have anything that helps kill elite mobs? Does Fury offer better self-sustain and solo ability?
Thanks!
Edit - Welp, I seem to have posted on my Warlock, but the question still stands.
Hello there. To answer some of your questions, Arms has a huge tool kit for self-healing when it comes to soloing elite mobs.
First off if you plan to do outdoor content, you might look at taking talents such as Impending Victory and Bitter Immunity in the warrior class tree. Impending is a self-sustained heal over victory rush as you won’t have to rely on Killing Blows for it.
Die by the Sword along with the healing talent is great for that sudden spike of damage you might be taking. If your new to the spec, sometimes it’s helpful to take defensive stance till you learn the ins and outs when it comes to soloing the elites as Arms.
Lastly, I would look at the healing from Deep wounds in the Arms tree, it’s not much to sneeze at but gives you a slight advantage with small heals till impending victory comes off CD.
Taking Storm bolt also gives you a little bit of a break as well. Use Rallying Cry when you can, even soloing elites, it will give you a bit of a health boost till Die by the Sword is back or waiting for Impending Victory to come back up.

Great advice, thank you so much!
everyone scoffs at second wind, but leverage hamstring, intimidating shout, storm bolt, and parry to get second wind windows during combat.

Also, something to note with rally, is it’s completely worthless as a defensive if used improperly. Any health gained is lost when rally expires. Unless you are taking damage that would have otherwise killed you, the health provided by rally does not get dipped into, and does effectively nothing. Rally however, can amplify % based healing, so if you use it and then impending victory or parry + storm wall, those heals will be effectively amped by 15%.

You can always macro an equipt shield and 1h for shield block and extra armor. Coupled with def stance it will help.
