Apologies for asking a question that’s probably been answered a thousand times. I want to simulate my specific toon/spec/gear to see what kind of DPS I should be able to achieve. I’ve seen a post or two that would seem to indicate that type of simulation is possible, but my searches keep turning up a bunch of stuff on raid sims so I keep going down the wrong rabbit holes. Anyone know the name of a tool that does what I want and maybe have a link to a tutorial? Thanks in advance.
Just type into Youtube “Raidbots sim guide” and choose some of the latest/newer ones to follow.
You want to install the simulation craft add on. Then take that data and put into raidbots website
Thanks both. I got it figured out and did the quick sim on raid bots. Apparently, I should be doing twice the damage of what I’m doing on a training dummy using max dps with balance druid. I’m missing the buffs that quick sim assumed, but I don’t think they can account for all of that missing DPS. I’m using the wowhead talent tree but IDK yet what quick sim used. I imported my character so I assume it used my talent tree? I noticed max dps never tells me to use celestial alignment or convoke the spirits, whereas wowhead says to use these? And the damage breakdown in quick sim shows some instant abilities I don’t even think I have? Could those be passives even though they are instant?
I don’t find rotation helpers to be all that accurate. I never used Max DPS but I have used Hekili to learn how to play shadow priest in Shadowlands because I wasn’t getting the hang of it. Once I did, I turned it off so I didn’t become dependent on it. You could try Hekili but honestly you’re better off just watching boomkin guides and committing their rotation to memory and understanding when to use your cooldowns. You can use target dummies or follower dungeons to practice. Several boomkin content creators have in depth guides.
As for wowhead, I find using murlok (dot) io to be better because you can see what the top 50 boomkin players in the world are using for talents in m+/pve and pvp.
