Everyone in here is acting like the entire community isn’t already analyzing every aspect of how you play before they invite. This addon changes nothing it’s basically what people already look at.
hmmmm this must be why im getting invites like crazy all of the sudden
Honestly blizzard should have an ingame tooltip already for doing this. The game has come a long ways that in game damage meter needs to happen. They already have one in PvP with damage chart and that came out a long long time ago.
Kill a raid boss you should be able to save your best DPS for that fight for all to see. Maybe a hot take but we’re already reaching that point and I personally have nothing to hide when it comes to damage meters
AVR was doing a little bit more than just having raid markers lets be honest here.
It says it at the top of the same post.
“Pay to play” doesn’t benefit all players.
Tbh the rational should be self explanatory. Its their game. Why would they want someone else profiting off of their work?
So should we all just report all the addons being behind paywalls we see ? like that are for wow and report players we find using them?
This is the natural result of carries making AotC and other achievements meaningless, it is simply too risky to pug without first checking WCL / raiderio (at least for 10+) to check parses / runs to verify if the person you invite was carried or not. Blizzard is financially incentivized to allow carries to continue because it results in token sales (which itself, contributes to gold inflation because even though no gold is created it puts more gold into circulation that would otherwise just be sitting doing nothing), so you can expect further barriers to entry + gatekeeping.
yeah. /10char
Nah this would kill the game.
no it wouldnt it would simply force blizzard to address the issues addons currently are used to fix. if the addons go the fixes come in.
They didn’t ban AVR, they broke the functionality so no replacement addon could detect precise ground coordinates. Banning individual addons is pointless whack-a-mole.
yes, technically
No. Different add-on. This one is official and being sold by WCL directly.
I understand the issue with charging for the addon, but personally, I’m concerned that its content could further increase segregation and “toxicity” within the game. If high IO criteria are already required for M+ or having AOTC to join a heroic raid, now you’ll have to be a true pro player for someone to invite you to anything.
I think continuing to delve into such sophisticated evaluation metrics goes against the essence of the game.
Imagine you are building a raid and you can easily filter out anyone who parses below 75.
This would 100% be detrimental to the game. The only reason it isn’t happening already is because it’s too much work to look everyone up.
Blizzard could also lower the bar so players don’t feel the need to go to such extremes.
That’s unfortunate. This community is certainly good at coming out with more efficient ways to be unpleasant. This will make raid pugging almost as bad as m+. Looks like delves will get another boost and this game’s slow transformation to single player will continue.
Absolutely. This is just the gearscore addon from back in the WoTLK days and blizz broke that one. Hopefully they do the same here.
Broke it by making it a baseline UI feature you mean? Let’s hope not.
No it’s against the ToS to have to pay for it. You don’t.
