Hey all, I never played warrior before, and it looks fun, and I really like how Plate Armor and 2H weapons look, so I used an old lvl 60 boost to create one.
So far, it is fun, like very fun. I’ve only played it in PvE doing world quests, but it’s the first time I feel like I am hitting enemies with my gear as opposed to all my gear being a stat stick.
End game, I always end up doing casual PvP to hit my conquest cap. While I love PvP, I’m never going to be that guy who is devoted to ranking up because I’ll never be that good.
My questions are:
- Is there anything special I can do on Dragon Isles, that you remember, or should I just lvl and go straight to Dornagol?
- I’ve never tank before but would love to try. Do I need special addons to track threat? If so, what’s a popular one?
- I really love fury, is it competitive melee dps endgame, compared to other melee dps?
- Which melee class/spec is hitting the highest dps right now? On that, I heard Ret.P. is exceptional.

You probably wont get an answer from the community right now as they are all too busy complaining about the nerfs lol ( I just made a post about this). I am new to warrior too but I can possibly help a lil with a few of your questions. first, no, nothing special to do in dragon isles but get through it as quickly as possible. as far as tanking add ons you can use weak auras or elv ui to track threat and details has a threat profile as well so if you have either one of those already just use them. if not. classicthreatmeter is a real popular one. Fury is very competitive but it has been getting nerfed weekly so there is a chance it will fall out of competition. right now though it has pretty much the highest damage in AOE situations in the raid

I would just level up.
Threat is no longer a major thing that needs to be really tracked outside of initial pulls. Tanking gameplay now is more about your active mitigation (You have to do things to stay tanky), more so than threat.
Fury is currently in a decent spot, but has been catching a lot of nerfs that have players concerned about the future of the spec. However unless you plan on Mythic Raiding or Pushing super high in Mythic Plus, you’ll be fine with whatever spec you choose.
Depends on the context. Some fights in the raid Fury is the top spec, in others Fury is dead last. If I had to pick a best overall atm, its probably Frost DK. But balance is nebulous and you should really focus on what gameplay you enjoy more than whatever is performing the best.

prot warrior is doing great ! in majority all tanks at doing well. you don’t need any special addon , just pay some attention to your UI to keep track of your abilities and use them. there are some great youtube creators that explain everything in a simple way. keep shield block and ignore pain up and you will be fine. you will find prot warrior great to roam the world without getting murdered and doing some decent damage, plus delves will feel great. all in all enjoy !
Thank you so much, I’ll try it out solo in PvE content.
I made a post that everyone commented on and then mentioned it here. is that spamming the forums to you?
What you seem to fail to grasp is that yes, some times posts get washed out of sight and aren’t seen. That doesn’t mean you make a big deal out of it in other threads.
Official forums is not widely accepted in the Warrior community. Hence why I always point ppl to the Skyhold Discord.
ill do whatever I want. and I didnt make a big deal out of it. you and the other poster are lol. get over yourself. people have agency and will do what they want
Welcome to the club. I’ve always loved warrior because we don’t rely on tricks or magic. Just muscle and steel baby. Learn to love heroic leap, you can negate any fall damage, clear jumps or leap onto higher platforms. It’s especially fun just dismounted a hundred feet in the air to come down with some thunder.
Tanking is a treat. I’ve only tanked as warrior and brewmaster but as a warrior you know what your doing and why your there, to smash faces with your shield. Shield slam generates rage, dump your rage into ignore pain. Rinse wash and repeat essentially. Obviously there’s alittle more do it but that’s the bread and butter, accompanied with thunderclap of course. We can charge in and out, plenty of stuns and interrupts, leaping around just generally causing havoc. Also pretty solid dps. And fun in pvp. As far as add ons, I don’t use much but I like plater. It helps see enemy nameplates but they also change color if you have/lose aggro
Fury is the best despite the recent nerfs people are saying is the nail in the coffin. Essentially whirlwind makes every move an aoe, odyns fury just melts and bladestorm is the hype. I prefer arms but fury is so much easy to play in comparison.
Enjoy brother, the skull throne always needs more skulls. And most importantly, always remember to zug zug.
Lmao, if only you didn’t troll him into believing that when you didn’t see the data of Fury at bottom 6 vs Arms.
I’m basing that off of all the groups I’ve ran in game, not “the data”
Just about every group a fury warrior will at least be in the top 3. We got to stop comparing everyplayer and every class to the top percent of players
Again that’s entirely dependent on AOE damage of each class, like Fire mage rn is literally default person in M+. Like yeah you do damage for AOE but our AOE nerfs isn’t even in yet and everyone is sounding the alarm that it’s going be utterly destroyed/broken in 11.0.5 just from PTR damage testing.
Call it how you want, I’m just calling it how I see it. Fury warrior still shreds.
