Scarlet Enclave Parsing Update,
We are planning on doing parsing rules only for the 20 man category in SE , these will hopefully be added within the next week, and then we will recrawl and rebuild history (FOR 20 MAN ONLY).
Planned changes:,
Balnazzar:
- Remove damage done to Infernals ID 243011 and Screeching Terrors ID 243007, include for tanks,
- Remove damage done to Mind Controlled Players,
- Remove damage done to Shade of Balnazzar, ID 243100,
Beatrix:
- Full removal from ASP (Damage, Healing, Speed),
Mason:
- Remove damage done to Eastsea Cannoneer and Eastsea Scallywag (ID 244122, 242853), include for tanks,
Solistrasza:
- Remove damage to Lightgorged Whelps ID 243139, include for tanks,
Beastmaster: No changes
Reborn Council: No changes
Lilian Voss: No changes
Caldoran:
- Add downtime from players getting debuff “Blessed Fetters” (ID 1230276) to Caldoran’s next cast of Cessation or Blade of Malice (ID 1230697, 1229462),
- Remove damage to all adds except Ashbringer (Scarlet Martyr, Scarlet Hollow, Scarlet Magus, Scarlet Ravager, IDs: 242062, 242510, 242098, 242092), include for tanks
Again this is only for 20 man. So it shouldn’t concern 90% of you. But it will be interesting to see the statistics.
What’s the reasoning behind having seperate rules based upon raid size?
The tuning of SE is meant to be 20 man. Some people want to have a more casual experience and run 40 man. Which is absolutely fine.
For those who want to challenge themselves will do 20 man.
There’s no reason to do SE at 20m unless your goal is to parse. That’s why the rule only applies to the hardest and most competitive setting.
I hate knowing these rules. makes parsing so degenerate.

Im happy they are including for tanks. Being OT on logs has sucked until this phase.
Parsing is almost always degenerate in some way. Anyone remember Greench’s from P1?
WCL in its current form is objectively bad for the game. Logs are about information, not ranks. They’ve coopted the term “parse” to mean something it isn’t. If you’re not looking over the data, you’re not parsing. If you only care about ranks, you’re a child.
If the fight spawns the mob, the damage is part of the fight. The big brains at Warcraft Logs think skipping mechanics is gameplay worth high ranks. As I said, objectively bad for the game.

Everyone uses it. So it’s the norm now. Fail to use it. You will be outcasted.
The only reason they remove adds as part of WCL is because 1% of raids leave adds alive for one person to cleave and pad damage. As a result every parse-brained moron will now ignore adds completely and grief countless raids.

the problem is , with the peoples strats at the top bleeding down to the middle and below (who cant effectively do the strats that people with better gear and reactions can do) , everyone suffers cause they think that that strat is the only way to do something.
Exactly. Rankings are objectively bad for the game. WCL, the way it is, is just bad. The point of logs is for information, not ego.
show me any tool and i will show you how people will misuse it .
its more than just wcl , its strats, gear choices, rotations, ect ect.
its a whole thing that people are trying to run before they can even crawl.
someone being told is a whole different thing than someone who knows why they do it the way they do it.
That’s not an issue with logs, that’s an issue with players.
Like I said, logs themselves are great. Rankings are not. Warcraft Logs is a perversion of the purpose of logging fights.
Rankings are fine too. There’s nothing wrong with Warcraft Logs and everything wrong with people. People are inherently incapable of assessing information appropriately.
the content is not hard enough to make players playing for objectives, therefore ego comes first. Oh well at least in term of doing mechanics properly. Ego has always been part of wow.
Look at mythic raiding, there is no parsing. But you’ll find more degenerate gameplay than you can ever imagine. Mass gold buying for high ilvl BOEs, DDOS, steal raiders from other teams.
For SE you can speed run in less than an hour now, absolute zero challenge for competitive guilds. Classic wow is too boring without parsing.
Again, parsing is going over the data.
