New Vampire Class

I propose a brand new class be created for the next expansion. The Vampire Class. This Vampire class uses no weapons. They can move around in stealth mode. When fighting they cast a drain life spell that depletes the enemies hp and transfers it to the Vampire. As the Vampire gains levels they gain multiple drain streams that drain life from more enemies at once. Like two or three or more drain streams. The drain streams would be blood red in color. Eventually at higher levels the Vampire can cast drain life streams to all enemies within 30 yards, replenishing the Vampires hp.

The only caveat is that the Vampire can’t operate in daylight or they burn up.
To compensate for this the Vampire can cast a teleport to shadow spell that lets them jump from shadow to shadow. Of course, they can operate within interiors like dungeons
houses etc. At a point they can go on a quest that rewards them with a Hidden Cloak. Which lets them walk in daylight for a period of time.

And as final compensation they can mind control npcs to do their bidding. I think this is a good beginning. Please feel free to add whatever you think would make for improvements to this class.

Dont like your design but ill back a vampire class or race any day. We have werewolves. We have Venthyr. We have other vampiric things.

Just do it.

With all the blood magic we have seen since BFA. I could see a bloodmage or something that works with blood.

Dps to drain

Heals to give.

Vampire class would be kind of neat. Lorewise, they can also have thralls, so a summon could be a possibility. Slash and/or bite damaging attacks.

I think they’d have to do away with the burning up in daylight. Maybe a debuff when not in shadowy areas (or conversely a buff when in shadowy areas).

Reminds me of Kindred from Forsaken World. Well except that was a race not a class.

Shadow Priest. Have fun.

I actually made an alt called Progeny after watching True Blood, i love vampire stuff

Give void elves fang options, they are the closest to vampires.

Hard pass on this.
No class should be unplayable or worse off depending on the time of day.

I think people did want San’layn for awhile. So heck, might as well give it to them with the void elves.

I thought they already had fangs.

Blood Death Knight is already the vampire class

Would the shadow of say a tree have the same effect on a vampire as say the shadow cast from a piece of metal?

Asking for my cat.

A vampire class for all races/customization for all races would be neat.

But if it’s (as in just the customization, not class. I’m against class restrictions.) to be given to one race, it should go to BLOOD ELVES. Not void elves. Void elves are the void theme, they’re not vampires. Undead are a Horde thing and San’layn have been asked for on the Horde side for over 5 years now. Void elves don’t need every single theme meant for the Horde that blood elves have been asking for. It seems like any time blood elf players/Horde ask for anything at all elf-related, boom, void elves are here asking for it.

That said, if it went to both, fine, but it definitely should not only go to void elves. Blood elves have yet to get anything exclusive to be honest, as void elves have gotten it all as well. And yet void elves still have a whole different theme to themselves while blood elves have lost anything that’s made them unique.

I mean if they had just given us the High Elf race as well as Void Elf then it would have been Blood and High Elf. But they didn’t and gave the void elves the high elf customization, so it would be for the void elves that are technically high elves in rp servers.

I think Void Elves should be paused on anything until they have a proper story for them that makes sense.

Because at the moment, there is mix messages around the Void Elves with no clear indication to them, take for example, are they supposed to be “Void” or are they supposed to be “High”. Someone will get what I mean, but in my own opinion, I think Void Elves should be paused on recieving anything until they got a proper story, especially to truly describe who they are.

Vampires are so 90’s.

No, twilight doesn’t count.

They should cover the bard class concept too

Existing classes that use “vampire-like” mechanics and themes:

  1. Death Knight
  2. Priest
  3. Warlock

In the same way that Warlocks lost their demonic transformation when Demon Hunters were introduced (in order to help make Demon Hunters feel truly unique from an existing class), these 3 classes (at least) would likely have to sacrifice a part of their class fantasy in order to let a Vampire class feel more unique.

I see vampire as more of a race than a class :woman_shrugging:
