So if I use the catalyst converter on gear from the forbidden reach, it unlocks the appearance for the normal version of vault of incarnates. If I use the untapped forbidden knowledge first and then convert it, it’s heroic. What happens if I convert it first and then upgrade it? Would I get the green forbidden reach set if I did it that way?
That’s exactly what I’ve been doing lately.
Converting the gear to tier first unlocks the Normal transmog, and then upgrading it unlocks the Heroic transmog.

I’m upgrading them first then converting, cause the way I see it:
I don’t mind farming the raid a few expansions down the line for transmog.
I do however, mind farming untapped forbidden knowledge a few expansions down the line.
I’m done with all 4 Forbidden Reach sets now though.
