The new UI NEEDS these changes:
- Ability to customise size of action bar 1 art (gryphons and wyverns). Allow us to resize these UI art elements so they don’t overlap with the bars immediately on top like they do now.
- Ability to reduce the number of buttons in an action bar to below 6. Ideally i’d like to go down to 2 buttons for a bar but i’d settle for 4 buttons. This is because I use small bars in certain areas for better button positioning which just cannot be done when you’ve got a 6 button bar overlapping with others due to positioning.
- Place the option to “hide bar art” of action bar 1 on ALL the action bars despite the fact that it would only impact action bar 1. I’ve literally encountered people who simply cannot find this option because it only appears when action bar 1 is selected and they get extremely frustrated because this setting also happens to lock action bar 1 and does not allow the player to move it around the screen at all.
- Allow the XP/rep bar to be movable and resizable.
- Allow us to change the position of the open inventory bag. Specifically the 1 combined bag. Currently it opens to a fixed position and thus overlaps action bars on the right of the screen.
- Allow us to resize/scale the menu buttons and the icons for the bags in the bottom right of the screen. Especially the 1 combined bag button. They are currently FAR too small and cannot be changed.
- Allow us to move and resize the LFG eye icon. Its current position can overlap with action bars due to how far left into the screen it is now and the fact that it is 5 times the size it used to be.
- Ability to resize the minimap.
- A more obvious resize button for the chat box. A lot of people cannot find the current resizer element.
- The current info popup window that you have in edit mode is not the only popup info window that appears in-game. There is another type that appears when hovering over certain UI elements such as the eye icon. This window actually completely obscures UI elements such as said eye icon, which is stupid since it blocks your ability to access its context menu. Allow us to change this.
- A combined one-bag option for the bank. Why you only made this feature for your personal inventory and not for the bank is a HUGE oversight.
- The ability to “nudge” our action bars using the arrow keys for more accurate positioning.
- Ability to move the loot roll window position.

Yup, add these and at least it would feel like a complete change. Right now it feels like they got halfway through and just stopped.

The funny thing is they didn’t do that bad a job. They just need to implement these features and Bartender and Dominos addons would become completely redundant.

Yes! most of the above (you can have the “hide buttons” option to hide the buttons you dont need and this way solve the thing you mentioned in section #2)
BUT and thats a big but! what I am missing here is this:
-
can not move the little bar with the LFG/guild buttons. not only it is stack on the bottom right corner it is TINY! . way not treat it like every other bar?
I use that corner for my hps/dps meters and now they are covered by this bar.
-
the “PLAYER” unit frame does not show shields(or at least I could not find a way to make it show shields).
-
When I open my bags they cover the 2 bars I have on the right side of the screen. did not find a way to move the position of the open bags.
-
The new “your armor is broken” icon is SOOOO SOOO TINY and yes, can not be moved… why take away the old huge image? bring it back!
Other than these issues and a few bugs I’ve found and already reported I realy like the changes. I realy thought I could stop using many addons but sadly I had to keep my SUF and bartender. and that is very sad coz its like they realy tried to adopt bartender into wow but ran out of budget like 70% in and we got this half-baked pie…
*All of the above is said after I only tested the new UI/HUD on my warrior. I’m too scared to test it on my restodruid…
Also, did anyone else had problems with macros not working correctly after this patch ?

I actually covered your points 1 and 3. I haven’t finished setting up my talents so I haven’t noticed your point 2. As for point 4, yes that is stupid if they’ve made the broken armor icon too small to notice.
As for macros, I need to test all mine but so far they seem to be working. But I haven’t tested my more complex macros yet. It wouldn’t surprise me if they broke some commands.
Edit: if by shields, you mean buffs like mage shields, that is handled by your buff bar at the top right of your screen. You can actually edit it in edit mode.
Yeah those really seem like a potential pain point for a lot of people. My eyesight is mostly good but even for me the icons are not immediately obvious just at a glance. The minimalist design does look nice, but come on, function over form any day. An option to make them larger or give them back their colour would be appreciated.

And please please add an option to revert the look of the micro menu, the new appearance is terrible

About macros:
1. All of my macros (simple ones) stopped working for some reason and I had to copy paste their content into a new macro. then they all came back to life. I do not know why. perhaps they implemented some new stuff in the macros?
2. this specific macro, which is a little more advanced acts in a different way then how it did for years before the patch:
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,nodead,harm][mod:alt]Taunt;Shield Slam
Now it turns into taunt even if I dont press the "Alt" key when I mouseover an enemy.
I've reported this as a bug.
(Edit : is there a way to have this formatted as a normal message? as in not having the macro out side of the #2 section it belongs to? (and still have the empty line between the macro and the line above it ?)
Edit2: @Trustlvlfour: thanks!
Try using the preformatted text option (“</>” button).
All of that! (I was smart to be too scared to log to my healer
)
Also, PLEASE ADD AN OPTION TO HIDE THE STUPID TALKING HEAD!
(now the hidetalkinghead addon does not work and I’m stack with this monstrosity…
I agree with all of the above.
What’s frustrating is these are things a lot of us having been going on about in the beta forums for ages but still nothing. /shrug

You know there are addons for all that right?
Bartender is currently broken/doesn’t work properly (Dominos was the superior addon anyways) and the Dominos dev has abandoned development due to the new UI changes and will no longer be updating his addon.
Was there another addon you were you referring to (ElvUI is garbage)?

I’d also like to see when you hide the scroll of Action Bar 1, that Action Bar’s scroll 2 be visible as a full bar all the time. Really sucks having a hidden bar you can’t access unless you use the scroll option on Action Bar 1.
The Bizarre thing about the interface is that they have two different design philosophies in the same system
If you want to resize the Action bar it gives you a percentage value of scaling and if its need to be vertical or horizontal and this is the same for the quest interface.
But if you want to resize the chat box there is nothing like that instead there is a barely visible widget to the bottom right to resize it

Eh I do not want the art period. It has always sucked.
I have never had that issue, it would be nice if they went down to 6 though. That would cover keybinds for any class.
Mine is on the bottom right. But yea I get it. Honestly my only issue with the new U.I. is loot in a raiding situation, at least LFR. I have not figured out what window it is so it shows up at the very bottom of my screen. One piece at a time because well the others are off screen, but I can live with it.
Aside from the fly out buttons bartender seems to work fine. according to the addon page the fly out issue is something Blizz has to fix.

And fix the stance bar. Fix the stance bar, and all of my grievances with the UI currently would be fixed.
You can move it around at least.
