In all my years of playing WoW, I have never had this many issues. I have turned off every addon and am still getting random flame lag, freezing, etc.
Trying to knock down my settings and still having issues. Addons I have used since wrath are almost entirely unusable right now. I get that isn’t on Blizzard to figure out, but given that even the base UI is buggy, I have no idea where to trace the problem down.
Months in and my pet STILL isn’t working in party frame. My buttons randomly don’t work when I join arena and have to reload my UI. Sometimes the default arena frames don’t load. List keeps going.
Yea. I basically made the new UI look as close to the old one. It was more then fine. I get making some updates is needed, but half of the addon I’d like to run seem to be having issues with it.
ThreatPlates
BigDebuffs
Prat
Dominoes
All are giving me a lot of issues. ThreatPlates I have been using since wrath and It’s unusable right now. I don’t know what’s going on. It works fine most of the time, but then I just start getting frame lag. I turn it off and everything is fine. Then the same starts happening with BigDebuffs. There are some open threads about it on GitHub, but I’d imagine some of these issues are outside of the devs hands.
Blizzard knows they have noone talented enough to make a good UI. If they did, most wouldn’t be using addons to cover it up and make it functional. So what does Blizzard do? Just make the same UI as before but pretty it up some, make it even less functional and user friendly, and mark everything as a protected function to not only screw over addon makers but to also add issues to the stock UI, such as buttons no longer firing or items in bags no longer working.
Yea. The list of odd things that have happened is pretty long. Up until the most recent patch, things were buggy, but the game was playable. I turned off everything, but am still getting bad frame lag. I know it’s not my computer. Everything else is fine and WoW has been mostly fine until recently.
I’m thinking it must have something to do with your particular setup, addons, or whatever. By that I mean, the problem isn’t affecting everyone, so there must be something going on at your end. But not just your end, because, while most players aren’t having problems, there are still many who are. So it’s a very vexing problem to solve.
I hope you can find a way to make things playable because waiting for Blizz to fix it might mean it never gets fixed.
Edit: I just want to add that I wish they had given us the option of using the old UI, because even though I’m not having any technical issues with the new one, I don’t care for it.
Yea, I was just doing a BG and kept turning things off and the problem didn’t go away. I’m really disappointed at the moment. My install for WoW is also relatively recent. I had some issues right at the start of the expansion. =/
For sure. It’s affecting a lot of people. One of my friends is having nearly the same issues, but he only runs 2-3 addons total. I have been in arena matches where other people are commenting about the same problems.
Appreciated. I’m not sure what’s going on. Like the pet issue. Healers can’t see my pet in arena. If you use the raid frame style for party frames, the pet won’t show up. There is an addon to ‘fix’ it, but most healers don’t even there is a problem.
I think there’s multiple issues here. General stability and performance issue, and the interface is pretty rough. And addons just add another dimension to the problem.
Given the third party situation the UI needed to be tested, locked down, and documented a couple months before release. I doubt that happened.
