Are looking pretty pathetic. This new UI was such a huge improvement. I have eliminated a need for a lot of my addons.
Grow up, take a breath, put your old person glasses on, and take a minute to learn it. It’s not hard, watch a couple videos on youtube if you are really lost. I know change is so hard for some of you, I can’t imagine how you felt when they detached the menu and bag buttons from the action bar in BFA, that must have been tragic.
I honestly hope they leave the classic UI to the addon developers, people should be forced to use this new UI. A lot of work was put into it and it is so much better. Sorry effort is going to be required to learn it, just like effort was required to learn the original UI.
Hats off to the interface, and art team. This is a very exciting change, and shows WoW is strong for the future.
ALSO, interact key, and action targeting…Wow…

I still think they should have had a legacy UI option. It’s just damage control.
But I agree with your post. The new UI is great. Just takes a little bit to get used to it. It’s very slick.

There’s also a classic selection preset in the edit mode which moves pretty much everything into the position you would expect it to be in

I don’t know all about that… but it is nice to see Warcraft get into a modicum of functionality that other games had a decade ago.

But it’s so much easier for the simple minded content sponge type of people to say it’s garbage and go on being bitter and upset.

It’s a lot to take in for some, and it has its flaws. I don’t blame most for being overwhelmed, especially those who have been using a basic UI for over a decade.
I just wish the ones being total drama queens about it would chill a bit.

So tired of people saying this. It’s nothing to do with not understanding how it works, nothing to do with needing to learn. I know how to use edit mode, I know how to set it up - but I would very much like the old look being an option.
Why is it an issue for some of you who really like the new look that some of us are asking for the option of being able to toggle on the old UI.
I think it’s great that lots of folks like it, I’m happy for you - truly. I am not asking for them to remove the new UI, I’m not asking for the old to be on by default. We were led to believe that a “classic look” would be an option, and no position of frames is not a “classic look”.

did you try it? It moves 1 thing (the character icon) and thats it. The stacked action bars and everything else stays the same. Sorry, but that is a slap in the face to people who liked the old interface.

I am hoping now with the new UIin place we slowly get more QoL UI enhancements over time.
I would love a guild management mouseover similar to ElvUI that shows me online members and also when I hold shift shows me their guild details. I can group invite from there, I can whisper from there if need be, etc. That way I don’t have to open another bulky window that prevents me from opening another window. More options to multi task.
Plus, the grid system is great, but it needs the ability to fine tune the placement down to the pixel.

well…just move stuff back to the place you liked it before. Problem solved.

Realistically though, going forward, and probably adding, fixing, and changing an outdated ui, into the future it’s probably not practical from a coding and game perspective.
Though I feel your pain. It does seem like a reasonable request on the surface, but might be more problematic than it’s worth for them. Idk, I could be entirely wrong.

Truthfully, I didn’t even look at the new UI. I installed the newest update for ElvUI (which I’ve been using for years, you want to talk about having to learn how to use all the functions that a UI gives you, try ElvUI). Will I try the new one? Probably not. I’m too much a creature of habit and I have no desire to mess with a new UI AND the talent trees at the same time.

The new UI is literally better then ALL UI addons ever in existence. It’s taken straight from FFXIV(the ability to customize and rearrange anything anywhere) so its superior to ElveUI.

I think that’s the key point, there. It is a comfort that there is a degree of future-proofing going on here.

You can also make action bar 3 into 2 rows with 6 buttons each and place it to the right of action bar 1 and 2 which resolves that pretty much.
I don’t know why people would be super pressed about the bag menu and micro menu, I havent gone to click any of those for years

I do like the new UI although I think that Blizz could have kept an existing UI option. Maybe that had a good reason for not providing that option, who knows. Personally, I like using as few addons as possible, so if the new UI gets rid of some of the addons you need, that’s a good thing in my book.
The loud WOW players tend to hate two things: when things don’t change, and when things change.

That’s not the point thought. Some people do NOT want to use a new UI, some want to continue with old UI because that’s what they are comfortable with and that changes absolutely nothing of how they play in a raid.

good thing is someone will find a way to make it look like the old UI and it’ll be able to be copy/pasted into their game soon enough.
