New TWW Healer Affix is unfun - Afflicted 2.0

Bringing awareness to this new affix they are trying to implement because I don’t think enough people are talking about it and it looks like they are really trying to make it a thing.

Recent change today:

Wondering what people’s thought are on this new affix. With how universally loved the removal of Afflicted was this seems like a complete 180.

Personally I think this is unfun in general and if it goes live it means I will definitely only be playing resto shaman so I can poison cleanse totem this unfun mess into oblivion.

Thoughts?

I love slow AOE pulsing damage on my teammates, especially when I don’t have to move. I don’t like stuff that steals my precious dispels.

I think the affix would actually be better if not dispellable (and just some extra AOE healing like bursting which I also like at low stacks)

1% of maximum health per second seems good. I would say 2% could even be fine but I think the dungeons have a lot of other outgoing damage that would make it overwhelming when taken together.

Yeah slow aoe damage is kind of fun to heal. It’s just… this is a second kick in the pants because there’s incredibly bursty group-wide aoe going out regularly, or random targets dropping like rocks. It’s primarily the new dungeons that are like that with the older stuff not being so bad. Siege and Necrotic Wake excluded they’ve got some significant burst going on in them still. It’s kind of unnecessary really you’ll have a LOT to do (probably more than I’d wager most healers can handle once they step into 8-10s).

What I want to see from an affix for once is nerfing the DPS players for every second they fail to resolve the mechanic. Leave tanks and healers alone, and give the DPS the visual equivalent of a dunce cap that doesn’t go away until the mobs are gone. Give them a damage down debuff. DPS doesn’t have anything to worry about that tanks and healers aren’t already doing so adding one small thing to their plate isn’t going to break anything.
