Im just a casual player but really wanting to try sod out. Theres a couple classes that interest me so i though i see how each are doing. I like the idea of a tanking rogue, gladiator warrior sounds really cool as i loved it back in wod, melee hunter feels cool as i really like survival in retail though it wouldnt be the same but i love to dual weild. I heard palis can actually tank so though i ask about them as i love my pali throughout the expansion.
Feel free to say positives and negatives about any or feel free to suggest something i didnt mention. Thank you all
Don’t touch warrior, outside of the two professions they can learn they are trash… Melee hunter hits harder, lol…
Long story short… they are extra gear dependent in SOD. More so than they have ever been… in the burst meta they have no real burst. MS hits like a wet noodle. Survivability is lacking a bit.
When tank spec does better in pvp, we have a problem.
They just dont burst hard…
Arms is the pvp spec, but the arms tree did not get the sod treatment, you do laughable damage in arms… Tanks hit harder than arms warriors now, arms does not have great survivability.
Fury is the dps spec, right now the only place a warrior shines is in a 30 second fight. Just because of deathwish and trinkets. The problem is that serious guilds are doing the hard mode fights now, so the lengths of the fights are longer. The damage is trash outside thirty seconds…
Glad stance, sounds like a blast… But the devs forgot about the spec (unlike melee hunters)…
So it comes down to rogue tank melee hunter and possibly even pali then
I have not seen a rogue tank since P1 to be honest. I dont know if it’s a thing anymore.
Pally is very, very good right now. If you like the class you can’t go wrong there.
Warrior used to be great in PvE but they stripped all of the damage % modifiers out of our runes in P4, out of fear of Warrior gear scaling, and we never caught back up since then.
melee hunter can output aloooooooooot of damage but in pvp lacks tools to get on an opponent. (you can always go ranged in pvp but bleh the world doesnt need more ranged hunters.)

Can palis solo content? If so whats the build or even melee hunters
pallies can solo strat mostly as alot of classes can (tanks mostly).

pallies are in a very good place atm honestly , though i would say theres like 50 bajillion of them.

i think the token is druid/shaman/pally though so it might be easier?

Yes, it is. You will roll against 10+ paladins in every pug unless you’re in a guild.

Dont think they are. They have been nerf into the ground.
