I mean any work orders, ever.
Not just public ones.
I can sit in valdrakkin all day looking for work, and never find anyone who wants anything made 
None of this matters because the one thing you can’t get is still massively important - Trading.
If you do not pick the correct faction or a high pop server, you will have a dead trade chat and thus no way to get anything you need made either at all or in a timely fashion(enchants, gear, gems, etc)
guilds and alts also can make work orders
I advertise on a high population and I get more people asking for information than I get orders most time.
Personal preference
Moonguard for alliance (avoid goldshire)
Wyrmrest Accord for horde
Proudmoore is quite pleasant.
Despite it’s reputation, Moon Guard is a really nice server if you’re looking into getting into roleplaying! A lot of people there are eager to help out newcomers with bags and such as well! Wow!
Not sure if that’s your cup of tea. Of course you don’t have to RP to play on Moon Guard. It’s just encouraged!

Check your ping or ms to the realm you are on.
My ping wired to this realm is 56ms home 65ms world.
Another realm i check was 102ms 120ms.
Another today was 67ms 78ms.
Fps 45-50 , 35 - 40 and in between the last one.
OH? I didn’t know that. I mean, I recall the server was very hard core PVP at one time, I wasn’t aware it still had a rep.
I just transferred back not too long ago, it’s been nice for me so far. All things considered.

I would advise OP against rolling on Moonguard or WrA if they aren’t interested in RP because you guys don’t care if people can actually play the game with all your cries about no sharding.
Plus if he is central he will have higher latency on moonguard anyway - I do.
