Hi! Have only played melee specs my entire life. Trying out hunter for my first ranged spec and I’m confused by the combat targeting.
In melee, when a monster in the mob dies I am auto targeting to another target in the mob that I’m in combat with. With the hunter it does not automatically target another monster. He just says he doesn’t have a target and I have to tab target another one.
Am I doing something wrong? How do you guys go about this ?
I’ve been playing a hunter since cataclysm and I can tell that I’ve kept targetting a new enemy myself everytime an enemy dies.
I start with tab target, but if in pvp, I keybinded “target closest enemy player” and I’m using that one.
If that does not select the enemy I prefer to hit, I click on the nameplate myself.
Your melee characters likely auto-target because they’ve been struck by an auto-attack.
Because you’re ranged you’re typically not being attacked as frequently.
I’ve always been Ranged and I’m used to manually targeting my enemies. I do not recall an auto-target system.
