So I’m new to monk healing. Kinda new to monks more or less actually. But can someone explain to me what/exactly how our Mastery works. Gust of Wind or whatever
what exactly is the “primary” target when you can have multiple Renewing Mists and Enveloping Mists up and going?
And speaking of Renewing Mists and Enveloping Mists, with Vivify healing targets that are encompassed with Renewing Mists, do you treat RM kinda like Beacon of Light from Paladins, keep one up on the tank at all times so he’s getting healed whenever you throw out Vivify on another person?
I haven’t really had any issues healing (outside of a few AoE situations while leveling), but I just feel…very subpar lol and it doesn’t sit well with me.
Gust of Mists procs on cast of renewing mist, enveloping mist, or vivify. It does not proc on vivify cleaves. It’s a single target heal essentially that heals up front on the person you cast the hot or vivify on.
Because Renewing Mist is a smart heal, it bounces around after healing someone up to 100%, so 90% of the time it’ll keep itself on the tank, and you want to be using Renewing Mist pretty much on CD unless you’re holding charges for a large damage event.
Also, the Essence Font hot causes your mastery to proc twice, but most of Essence Font’s healing is loaded in its bolts, so don’t precast it. In large AOE situations, you want to have ReM on CD, cast Essence Font, then vivify spam to top people off.
If you want more in depth resources, there are some great guides at peakofserenity.com that explain various parts of our toolkit in greater depth. Hope you’re having fun! Good luck.
