Hey everybody,
I’ve been playing WoW for a long time, but this expansion I wanted to try the Mage class for the firs time. Currently I’m playing as a lvl 60 Fire Mage, but I’m really having issues getting my DPS/Damage Up in dungeons. I’ve watched so many videos, and read guides on my rotation, and anything i could think of to help me understand why my DPS is so low. Does anybody have any tips that could help a new Mage player in SL get her DPS up?
I’m currently Ilvl 187, I do have a lot of PVP gear right now trying to get PVE gear best in slots. But in Dungeons/Mythics I’m always doing the lowest damage. It’s starting to drive me crazy. Thanks!
if you are using the icy veins class guide rotation and talents and watching videos, and still performing poorly it could be other things. Are you using a MMO mouse with 12 side buttons so you never have to stop moving to cast instant skills? Read this thread i showed how to make some basic weak auras to improve reaction time. if all else fails, it might be that you have slow reaction time. Fire mage needs fast reaction time more than most classes.

For this one I’d actually suggest heading to the mage forum here.
The guys there will be better equipped to answer your question, and will be more knowledgeable for mage specific talent picks, rotation advice, stat priority, etc.
I’d suggest posting on your mage when you ask there though so they’re able to look at your character on the armory in order to get a better idea of what might be holding you back. Best of luck!

did you get this figured out?
you are fishing for crits and using the grace window to cast two spells to fish
you have to have high crit gear
