I have an alliance (nelf) and a horde (d troll) druid. Trying to decide which one I like best and which faction feels right to main on. Dont know much about the basic story past WC3, but feels like Horde seems more honorable with Slyvannas gone, is that right? And seems to have more of a council style government? And I guess Alliance is a dictatorship under a very young and inexperienced human king? Maybe I’m not stating these accurately but thats the impression I’m getting. Also with exception of Forsaken and Goblins, Horde races seem to act more honorable…I’m thinking along the lines of Tauren and Darkspear. Does this sound right or am I getting it wrong? Nelf seem to be a religious theocracy and the entire race seems to be concerned with just how Tyrande and Malfurion are doing instead of themselves. So with all that said feels like the Darkspear and the Tauren are the good guys…lol. Thoughts? Am I off base? And I guess another thought…whoever is leading the forsaken now…are they more honorable than Slyvannas was?
There is just so much story in WoW that there really isn’t a set answer. While the various factions may have an alignment “lean” there are usually enough individual story characters that it’s more complicated than good guys/ bad guys. So, I think you do yourself a disservice trying to flatten the factions down into simplistic narrative types.
I’ll also warn you now, if you only ever want to be the good guy, you will be disappointed. Both factions have quests that do not leave you feeling good about yourself. Horde probably have more obvious ones, but sometimes I find the more subtle Alliance ones more disturbing because they feel more “real” and less cartoon villain.
