New to Evoker

I Main Paladin. Call me ignorant, but I didn’t realize that Evokers can breathe fire until I read it last night… In DF, I made an Evoker, but never played him beyond the starter area.

When I read about them having Fire Breath, it immediately made me think of my ESO Main, Argonian Dragonknight Thinks-He’s-a-Dragon. I love the RP factor in ESO of a lizard race being a Dragonknight, breathing fire, leaping forward to attack enemies, etc…

My main hangup on playing an Evoker is that I tend toward melee… My natural instinct is to be in your face, not at range.

My Evoker I made a few years ago is 60. I made a new one yesterday and he’s 10? Why the difference?

They removed the 1 per realm limit and changed the starting level from 58 to 10, as they generally do with hero classes after their expansion is over.

Well, then I think I’ll stick with my 60, lol. Rename and redo.

We want to stay out of melee range, but we do have a shorter range on spell casts, two charges on our defensive cooldown, and mail armor as well as two instant-cast spells we can use if we do end up in melee range. Deep Breath (our fire breath cooldown ability) can be used both for damage as well as to get away from the enemy if needed. Kiting is something we can do well when we need to.
