Haven’t tried classic yet, but WoTLK is what made me actually get into WoW after not enjoying vanilla beta at all so out of nostalgia I figured I’d give it a shot when it comes out and see if I dig it still or if I’ve got rose-tinted glasses on.
ANYWAY, is there any info yet on the different racials? I looked on wowhead but what they list for wrath is the same as TBC. I feel like in wrath, for example, humans had every man but I don’t see that listed (maybe I’m remembering wrong, and it was later?). I presume that once wrath releases whatever racial updates were made from TBC to WoTLK back in the day will happen, but I haven’t played classic before so idk if that happened with vanilla to TBC. If there’s a reputable source somewhere that details these, I’d appreciate it. Otherwise, I guess I’ll wait until wrath comes out before making my dudes since I don’t want to select the wrong race beforehand.
Regarding server selection, I realize this is a bit more subjective. I could join currently one of the more populated servers that exist for TBC, giving me access to a larger AH and a larger pool of people to play with, making forming groups easier and trying to grind out my gold supply a bit easier. But then again, those are “full”, and I’d be coming in totally new from level 1. Or I could make characters on the WoTLK fresh start servers and be on even footing. Given they did that for TBC, does anyone have experience with what it’s like on a fresh start server in terms of how difficult it is to play the AH or to find groups? I’m interested in doing pvp, maybe some dungeons (no raiding), but end game pvp is always my goal, and I plan on jumping onto a pvp server like I did back in the old days.
Most racials are the same across the two expansions. Here is a list of Lich King racials (Note: Every Man For Himself is undergoing a name change, for whatever reason)

You can download the PTR to see racials.
On a fresh server, you BUILD the economy.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to tell the difficulty forming groups on fresh servers because no one really knows how many people are going to play on them.
There are a select few that actually offer any World PvP, and that might change in time, as well. Realistically, you can do PvP on any server. Grobbulus is a fairly well-balanced server, and it’s a PvP realm. It’s not a fresh-start realm, but you could always purchase a boost and get working on gearing in prepatch so that you’re ready for launch day.
Bruh if you enjoy wppv come to grobb if not if you alli go pagle bene if you horde and do not enjoy world pvp go to whitemane or fareline . Just have fun we all pay for a sub, from a gnome that loves to pvp
Thanks for the helpful replies, much appreciated! I may just join grob. Looking at bene/faer servers, while pvp, they’re like 99.9% one faction (from what I can tell from the various server pop sites) so it’s essentially like a pve server. My only concern with grob is that I’m on the east coast and it’s a west coast server, so I’m not sure how bad, if at all, any lag would be.
