New to arenas

Im new to arenas and trying to get better. I play a frost mage and have done battlegrounds but really really want to get into arenas. Is there any group or guild i can join or any way to find more new players for arena? I main a frost mage and would love to find a way to learn and get better.

Look for pvp guilds on tich maybe. Can sometimes find people in the forums or just apply to random 2s/3s groups and get btags that way

If I was you I would just start in LFG sign up for groups or make your own groups with “learning” in notes and add people you play with.

Hey Aaria!

There are some great players here. A lot of solid pvp knowledge too if you have a specific question.

Not that my opinion counts for much, but my advise is just in get there and do it. Keep doing it. Put in the time and find what works for ya.

Take a break now and then and Q back into random/epic BGs, too.

2 hours later…

Yeah if you’re looking for 3s but 2s there is usually a good amount of people looking to play.

Would you say to queue for arenas as well? Even if its constant losing just keep queuing and see what works?

Hello Aaria, I’m a big random/epic BG fan. There are a lot of really great arena players here. Perhaps they have some good advise here.

If you like arena, and if I were to give advise, I say def stick with it. There is a lot to learn there and losing is part of learning…finding what works and what does not.

You learn by getting owned

No one’s a gladiator instantly

I’d make sure you have the basics down (keybinds, gear, rotation, addons, knowledge of which major cds to look out for) before you start doing trial and error imo.

Would skrimmishes be ok since rating isnt involved?

It’s okay for learning your class and setting up all those things I mentioned, yeah. It is a different type of mode than rated, though. With double dps and an unreliable teammate you’ll usually just have everyone using all their cds at once and seeing who dies, so it won’t really be a great environment for practicing things like cd trading/positioning/peeling.

It’s crazy to me how people make posts like, “omg there are no new gladiators the game is so bad”
And also complain about fighting players wbo are/were gladiators.
And THEN toss around rhetoric like “tryhard” and “sweaty”.

It’s just so insanely self-handicapping.

People who genuinely try to improve will always improve, and people who don’t get stuck. It is what it is.

you should learn in shuffle then once you get some exp try to find partners

gonna be very hard to find rated 3s otherwise unless you wanna become a charity case for someone
