New tier bonuses need a rework

My sim is telling me I need to be at least 660 item level before the negative impact of this season 2 tier set bonus breaks even with current S1 bonus.

Mythic preferred stats ring still doesn’t sim higher than the circlet …

I can’t help but imagine it’s not stellar out there for other classes

Yeah I can’t wait to get my set just to see it proc IBF on the last mob of a pack, or it asking me to dumb all runic power into useless death strikes for cleave dmg as if that was smart, or as if that did anything at all in single target.

These sets are pathetic, untested, uninspired, lame, and should serve as a lesson for them to stop aiming low out of fear of having to work more the following season to outdo the previous season, which is the main reason why S1 sets were also very boring.

They do need a big rework, the idea of making them all proc similarly can work they just need to have an interesting proc, for example for tanks instead of automatically popping our big defensive out of nowhere which is something nobody wants, it should give us a buff that makes our next use free without triggering the cooldown, and the dmg portion of it should be well thought out, not some random idea that doesn’t even work properly because it was designed by someone who never played the class. They will never convince me that the person who made the BDK set actually plays BDK. And “actually plays BDK” means doing high keys, not the 7s you barely time in your 1 hour a week play session on the job.

DH tier is garbage. 4 piece isn’t better unless you have the same tier lvl this season as from last season. You don’t replace 4 piece until you have new 4 piece (ie) S1 Heroic 4Piece is equal to S2 Heroic 4Piece

My 4 set is a 30k dps loss ATM lol

Yep DH tier bonuses are absolutely trash. Pathetic design.

My ele 4p is apparently a 60k dps loss over keeping 2p from T1… going to keep playing around with sims though, very disappointing though.

Ouch, Blizzard really botched some of the DPS tier bonuses lol.

Yep. Some specs are absolutely getting neutered by the new set bonuses, while others are just fine. It’s almost like they don’t test the game.

Holding onto 4 items that are 20-30 ilvls higher than that what you currently have, but not using them because it’s a downgrade due to the set bonuses feels terrible. Absolute joke.

BM hunter 2pc was nerfed from 200% procced barbed shot to 100% b/c pve reasons, but they never changed the pvp modifiers, so now your 100% barbed shot gets overwritten by a 50% one, making the 2pc a pretty huge damage loss.

Set bonuses shouldn’t result in a loss of damage of your regular rotational abilities, but blizzard just refuses to change the pvp modifier or even acknowledge it

I got an Outlaw Rogue alt, I’m kinda worried how things will fare for that spec once I get the 4pc on her lol.

They tuned a lot of the new sets atrociously badly. Some specs worked out ok, a lot are dps-neutral and a few (looking at dps evoker) are a net loss.

Usually the third week of the new raid brings some proper tuning, so we can hope for the best. Don’t expect much though.

The reason for this is cyrce’s circlets stats actually scale with your mastery. You’d think the effect on the middle gem only applied to damage procs but no, it affects the stat gems too.

I am starting to think past season set bonuses should just be disabled when a new season launches. Keeping items that are 20+ item levels higher than what you have just sitting in your bags because you are waiting for catalyst charges is stupid.

My bm hunter going from 0 set (not even s1) to 2set s2 was a 250,000 increase so that’s neat.
