No changes. Instead of automatically getting all of them, you have to manually pick them up. There is no creativity left at Blizzard. Good thing I did not pre-purchase.
It’s how a lot of the talent trees work now, unfortunately.
It’s like they wanted the vanilla trees back without understanding why people liked the vanilla trees.
what exactly are you complaining about …
If you talk about skills and abilities in the Talent tree, that is because you get them during leveling …
You mean what is currently baseline but now you have to choose between them?
You seem to have an odd obsession with the demonstrably false idea that players get everything while leveling. They don’t. Depending on how a spec’s tree is set up, they may have to forgo something they have always had as baseline in order to take something else that they also use a lot.
Players will have limited points to spend. They definitely don’t get everything while leveling.
They understood that people automatically like anything from Vanilla due to nostalgia so they decided to bring back the fake choices people have been asking for
At the end of the day pretty much every iteration of talents are fake choice, unless they make them so ineffective they simply don’t matter.
Though it’s like they completely misunderstood what people liked about classic era class design.
In this post, I was mainly talking about Druid. It would be best if you jumped to WotLK to compare and understand what I am saying.
In regular gameplay, you get the basic kit and use talents to enhance your particular play style.
For the last few Expansions, Blizzard forced This particular spec on you without giving you any choice.
In its current incarnation, Blizzard still forces this particular spec onto you, but now it blames you for picking this spec.
Why would no talent let me cast heal at reduced power on me without having to switch forms?
I am saying that we got the SAME druid as before, but to be a good druid, we still have to go and spec the same way as Blizzard did for our last few expansions. There has ben no change. Just visual.
I disagree, I like the druid talent trees.
heck I love all the class talent trees,
and the ability to change them at will, anywhere, anytime.
Problem is people remember the old system and feel nostaligic. Even back during vanilla, etc, there were “dead” abilities & spec’s people would think were META. To the point if you werent x-spec w/x-talents you might not even get an invite to a group. They removed that but people don’t like not having a choice so they did what was asked. Wether YOU want the optimal spec or a spec based on your flavor or choice is up to you, but, they did give what was asked for.
Think I agree here. (only looked on 2 characters so far) These new trees effect my gameplay, and robbed me of talents. Then you have to choose ones they took away, like legendary abilities, ones you had for years before (now have to spend a point on), or covenant ones to get something down the line you might want. Ones that you may of already had, some of which I used a lot. Sure hope they give ample amount of points to build for the new levels. I can get over this crappy looking ui because it has good functions, but these trees suck as of now.
I’m having fun with the shrooms. The mushroom talent.
I’m maining balance druid for df… seems pretty fun to me.
Those covenant abilities are there though. Usually end of expansion you would lose that legendary or covenant or whatever borrowed power.
Much of the timing of which you get an ability has not changed, it wasn’t a 100% re-work of every class and spec, they never said that, it’s just offering a choice in the ORDER of which you pick up the abilities you used to get automatically given to you from the course of 1-60. And allowing you to not have to choose an ability that you used to never press.
It’s a great system compared to being forced to have an ability in your spellbook that you wouldn’t even bother binding.
If you have to put points in unusable abilities to reach the ones you need; or must choose between two that were both formerly baseline; or have to spend points to take something on the other side of the tree, that is a significant change.
I played classic. While I enjoyed the flexibility it gave players, that’s not what we have now.
Absolutely nothing has been done to the guardian tree since they first showed it off way back earlier in development. It is the worst spec in the game.
The biggest problem with the talent panel we have been using for years is that while the tooltips made everything look equally good, too often one choice was what most players took because it was clearly best, one was situationally useful, and one was really bad. The fact that the game never fixed this and gave players no guidance that would help them make a good choice shows us that was a noob trap. Some talents were worse than no talents.
How many years did they have to fix this but never did?
same i actually like the druid tree a lot more than way it used to be. So much more customization and added abilities to mix in as a hybrid. I really like the hunter and mage one too. This was a huge improvement to the old for customization. Doesn’t mean it’s perfect and no room for fixing up, druid does have some work to be done in guardian I think though.
I don’t mind the tree idea, but taking away stuff then making us spend points on said spells to get others is silly. Like hunter above they make you spend a point on counter shot.
No they don’t make you do anything. If you dont want counter shot then dont get it. If you do pvp or run mythic+ then maybe you need it and must sacrifice some dps. Or maybe you are doing raids and dont need to waste the point on an interrupt when most raid bosses are immune or theres ton of other classes that can silence. The tree down from the 2 other skills on the left and right allow you to circumvent to get to the next phase.
Thank you for letting your feelings be known. Your $15 a month will be missed. Please drop off an official complaint in writing in the little wicker basket by the door.
What in the world are you griping about? Druid is one of the top classes in game right now.
You need to wait until Dragonflight to take full advantage of the talent trees, the extra talent points going from lvl61-70 helps a lot.
