I am a little confused. Do the covenant conduit talents still work with the new talent tree? I’ve chosen some talents in the new tree that I already have in the forge conduit so should I choose different ones that aren’t in the new talent tree? I’ve looked around but can’t find the answer. If anyone knows then please reply. Thank you.
If you choose the talent, it overrides the conduit version even if the conduit version is a higher value. The difference is the Conduit version only works in Shadowlands content while the talent version works everywhere.
I really think that when you have one and select the other that a prompt should appear when you make the changes that explains this.
- You cannot double up on bonuses from legendaries, covenants, or conduits
- The talent version will always override the actual SL feature
- There are “dead” conduits provided you do not take the ability they correspond to in your tree.
- Conduits work only inside SL zones and M+ dungeons (there is a common bug where you have to zone out and in to make them work)
There’s a few legendary effects that stack with their talent version, but only in some cases where the effect is broken up into multiple talents. I’m using Cat-Eye Curio for solo play, they split its effect into two talents Tireless Energy and Cat’s Curiosity. If I get Tireless Energy only then it stacks going from 100 energy to 220 energy with extra regen. The moment I spend 1 point into Cat’s Curiosity the Legendary is disabled.
There are others that do this too, but you have to play around to figure them out. Mostly its the lesser effects from the Legendary will stack with its Talent counterpart, but the major effect will always override it. This information is really only useful if you don’t plan on moving to Dragon Flight, even then its fickle.
