[New Talent] Melee Hunter in Classic+

Survival Tree was going to be a melee spec, but was scrapped and flipped to ranged.

Savage Strikes
Increases the critical strike chance of Raptor Strike and Mongoose Bite by 20%.

Update for Classic+

Savage Strikes
Increases the critical strike chance of Raptor Strike and Mongoose Bite by 20%.
All Shots and Stings are now melee range Strikes.

  • Arcane Strike
  • Multi-Strike
  • Viper Strike
  • Scorpid Strike
  • Serpent Strike
  • Wyvern Sting will be Wyvern Strike.
  • Traps will be usable in combat for all hunters.

Trust me this will be 100% fun and change the meta in a good way for a classic+

TBC hunter vs 1.12 other classes?

I’m not opposed to classes in Classic+ getting a makeover but let tbc’s content stay in tbc, with the flying mounts.

This didn’t happen in TBC. I’m talking full melee hunter, not weaving melee-ranged-trap, etc.

Survival hunter’s bow will function the same as Rogue’s and Warrior’s ranged since Survival hunter will be 100% melee+traps.

I feel like this skill won’t be as effective as a melee build. I guess it could at least give you a chance to reset your traps

didn’t want it to be too OP, cuz it would be more like Chimera Shot in wrath but melee strike range.

Go do a survey of retail hunters ask them how melee survival has been over the years before you suggest it for another version of the game that probably will never exsist.

If I was redesigning WoW, Hunter would be very different than it is now BUT to ham handedly go in and change somethings would have a slew of unintended consequences. I really hope that Classic + (IF it ever happens) is not just some bolt on stuff to existing Classic.

I quite like Survival’s current design in Classic vanilla. To me, Hunters died when they turned SV into a melee spec - that’s when i quit retail for good.

Survival hunter’s original 31 talent point was a melee applied bleed effect. It was suppose to be a melee spec but was scrapped, like sithilus was scrapped, BRD, emerald dream, etc.

How rad would have been if original wow team was able to complete everything they had thought up and wanted to put in the game.

Yea i see what you’re saying; like a concept version of WoW. That would be cool to try.

By choosing to play retail progression servers (tbc & wrath), development for such Classic+ content has been delayed.

So survival from retail.

I really liked the retail survival hunter. The harpoon ability is fun. I haven’t played there for a long time, is it still melee?

I do as well. It’s the same for the most part, still a weird melee-hybrid-dps-ranged thing.

survival is fine, it’s actually the best hunter spec when you get good enough gear thanks to the +Agi talent :expressionless:

You mean it’s the best spec after Naxx, when people quit the game, or go pal around in Era.

I don’t want them redoing talent trees for classic +.

yes some of the trees have some really bad talents but what they could do is just add some new sets to the game that compliment those trees.

I do think classic+ will eventually come but changing the trees is something I don’t think will be a part of it

Gotta change the trees a little my man, otherwise they should just delete the trees entirely because they’re not used outside of the lower tier talents to finish min-max cookie cutter builds.

Survival isn’t fine it’s trash until full Naxx gear. You know what people do once they get said Naxx gear, the game is over, so nothing. Survival is strong for about 1 minute before characters are dumped into the Landfill called Era.

That is the same logic of people saying “warrior in wotlk is awesome with armor pen in ICC” …last minute of last phase. bwahahaha not worth it.
