New Sylvanas novel available for preorder

… I am fully on board.

I am 100% off of the prophecy of the Apocalypse being fulfilled by Calia Menethil marrying the spawn of Wrynnrunner that was sired in secret prior to the Gathering and kidnapped by the Jailer as leverage against them. It was a fun short-lived attachment.

I am fully onboard with Zovaal Wyrnnrunner re-enacting a WoW fantasy cosmological version of the The Parent Trap on Sylvanas and Anduin to ensure his conception happens so he doesn’t start disappearing like that photograph that Michael J Fox had in Back to the Future.

“Save the Wrynnrunner, save the Universe.”

Something something infinite/bronze dragonflight … something something … timeline messed up … something … save the universe.

It’s like a mad lib with an emphasis on the mad part. I love it.

100% ONBOARD.

/Sometimes we all need to stop and just laugh at the mess.

Stop this madness! You where meant to save the story, not leave it in darkness!

That aside I’m definitely not onboard with that idea, because that causes so many more questions then answers. Like how does a living person even have a child with an animated corpse? How does this child get tossed to the beginning of creation with god like powers?

Challenge accepted.

The Jailer is Zovaal Wrynnrunner who was banished due to it being discovered that he was actually the child of two Ancient Ones. Since the procreation between Ancient Ones is forbidden, the other Ancient Ones cursed the lovers to be trapped unknowingly in various lives across the Universe for the remainder of eternity. Only a long-forgotten ritual could unbind his parents, and only they could help him find it.

As Sylvanas rages against fate and free will, fate is actually what finally placed them on the same plane of existence and the same planet. Zovaal had been expending his resources trying to reach the denizens of Azeroth for the last 20 years, hoping to reunite and free his parents. He had hoped via Frostmourne that he could trap both of their souls together and they would be able to help guide him into freeing them from their curse, but instead the Lich King had failed him and had cursed his mother into a horrible half-existence.

Sylvanas made a pact to work with the Val’kyr, one amazingly too good to be true, because Zovaal had to protect his mother to hopefully reunite him with his (currently adolescent) father. He couldn’t explain to his mother everything he had done because he wasn’t sure she would understand (in her mortal form). Now, with Korthia, the knowledge of the City of Secrets, the Sigils, the Arbiter, the Sepulcher of whatever, whatever other macguffins he needs, he might finally be able to break the curse affecting his mother and father and free them before fighting to right the terrible wrong that had been committed against them.

But he needs one last thing - true love’s kiss - so he has to convince his mother and father - in their mortal forms, to fall in love all over again. By kidnapping them into the tower where he has been banished.

No really that was entertaining

That emoji comes pretty close to describing me while I was trying to write that.

There was definitely a moment or two where I had to remember that the laughter would be worth it.

So I pushed it down and pushed through it.

Stronger willed then most, I thought I was reading a slightly more well thought out fanfic then most. But equally taking things way way out there, like “Sylvanas was actually the secret love child of Sargeras/Azeroth.” (Or to be saucier and even more left field Sargeras/Aggramar.)

Honestly there’s a strong level of creativity to come up with that premise alone.

We’re talking an Elf, born of a Titan possibly committing some sort of cosmological-level crime with an unborn Titan soul, or even having some sort of reproductive capabilities we don’t understand. I could see a fantastic daytime TV episode evolving where they announce who the actual parents are.

But there’s only so much crazy I can channel in a day. I need time to recharge before tackling that one, lol.

This reminds me of an anecdote I read about a forsaken RPer who named their character Scary Mary and she spent all day running around Silvermoon and flirting with male blood elf players while describing her state of decay. The example I remember is that while trying to schmooze with one of them, her jaw popped off and started rolling down the street and she had to go chase after it.

That would have had me dying from laughter honestly :wolf:

I mean, looking at Story (capital S), a smear isn’t the end. Think of Arthas, think of Illidan, etc. These are characters that did unforgivable things and were forever changed because of it, but they still had memorable stories.

So I’m slightly torn on the issue. I think the Horde can continue on, and people can still enjoy it, but there needs to be an acceptance of “what has happened can’t be undone.” People can be upset, and it should be part of the narrative, but it doesn’t have to be the sole defining feature.

Again, going back to my suggestion, telling new stories that focus on other areas can help prove the point that the Horde (and Alliance) aren’t defined by their worst moments.

That is all kinds of amazing I can’t lie

can’t wait

Me:

Rinse repeat. I’m undone!

I’m detecting implications from the sketches.

Maybe Anduin reminds Sylvanas of her little brother Lirath?
