Why? Why change it? The old model looked better and it was a better shade of pink which suited its Love theme.
If you wanted a new model you should have retired the old Lovebird and made the new one a new mount.
Im all for new things but not when it comes at the removal of old. There was no need for this change. Its almost as if the people are Blizz want to remove and change everything that existed in WoW prior to Legion.
If new textures and new models are so important to you Blizzard, make WoW 2! Leave the old work done by other people years ago alone. You are removing the effort they put in designing these things for the sake of shoozing up the game.
i personally like the new model, though i’m colourblind so i can’t see any pink downgrade.
i wish they’d give us a toggle option for new/old NPC models including mounts, like we used to be able to toggle our character models.

Honestly? Blizz should probs just update the resolution of old models and try to keep them as close to the original as possible

Honestly I’m in the camp of improving old stuff graphically.
Maybe make a switch for something to see new vs old like they did with the old race models.

When people ask for blizzard to update all the old mounts, this is all I can think of. People get upset over literally everything. It’s why we were stuck with the old as hell character models for a decade.

Completely agree. Turning things into legacy items rewards people who earn those items before a deadline. Blizzard had the new model, they should have placed it in the game, retired the old, and the people who had it would have a mount that can’t be obtained anymore, adding more value to it.

I can’t believe people liked the old tallstrider model. It looked terrible. The new one looks great.

Who asked them to update the Lovebird? People want updated NEW models, not replacements of the mounts they have.
I dont mind the new model. The old one was better (imo). I dont like that the mount I earnt is gone and replaced with this one. The old one should have been retired and made unobtainable and a new mount placed on the vendor instead.
People played as those characters for a decade. They grew attached to them. Those characters, for a lot of people, were extensions of them selves and they had grown attached to them. Hockeybalboa has been a human since MoP and it was only earlier this week that I made my first visit to the barber and changed my hair and face in years.
There is nothing wrong with voicing your displeasure at a change on the forums, thats what they are here for after all. The problem is that a lot of people will just outright jump on here, say “oh this sucks” and offer no feedback to address the issue… kind of like what you have done complaining about people complaining.
I like the new model. I dont like that my original mount is gone forever now. Sure, I dont ride it regularly but it was a memory of an event I did years ago and a reward I earnt. I didnt earn this HD version. I have no attachment to this version. I have no story for getting this version. I just have it now and it came at the expense of my original mount.
whats the point of a link you cant click on or have to remove an extra character from in order to make it work? It would be easier to just google “Swift Lovebird”.

Lovebird change is less sinful than what happened to the Hyenas.
I like the new hyena models. Like the new strider models, too. The original models hadn’t aged well.

New model is great.
Having the hyenas colored via paint bucket is not great.
Old hyenas had beautiful texturing to them. New is solid and gross.

I like the upgrades. It gives Tauren a reason to stick with their hunter pet. They should update all these models, maybe make a rare spawn old model for tames or something, but Classic is coming out and live WoW has enough problems without having extremely outdated models on the list.
New model is better. Yay.
