In this new model a monthly sub will cost $24.99 per month. What you get is all the perks that the $14.99 offers plus 1 mount per month as long as you are subbed. Mounts choices for now will be from only classic, BC and WOTLK expansions. We gonna play it safe and easy and none drastic this time.
For the 3 months sub the cost will be $71.97 every 3 months. What you get is all the benefits of 3 months standard sub offers plus not 3 mounts but an extra 4th mount for free as a thank you. Again, all mounts will be from the era of classic, BC and WOTLK for now.
For the 6 months sub the cost will be $137.97 every 3 months. What you get is all the benefits of 6 months standard sub offers plus not 6 mounts but 2 extra mounts for free as a thank you. Again, all mounts will be from the era of classic, BC and WOTLK for now.
Finally for the 12 months sub the cost will be $275.97 every 12 months. What you get is all the benefits of 12 months standard sub offers plus not 12 mounts but 6 extra mounts for free as a thank you. Again, all mounts will be from the era of classic, BC and WOTLK for now.
Now, this is the new model, and you gonna keep the current model intact with no change. You are just going to offer this new model with new mounts as an incentive. For now, the mounts will be from a list I call “Dormant Mounts” meaning they are there but no one can get them anymore. Just to take it slow and play it safe and easy start with classic, BC and WOTLK and offer only PVP mounts and “Glory of the XYZ Raider” achievements mounts for those 3 expansions only.
Once you see that this idea will be a smash hit, you bring out the big guns and expand to all expansions while keeping the latest 3 expansions ineligible to this idea. You then add more mounts to the list such as past AOTC mounts, mounts where players will have to camp for up to 28 hours for rare to spawn you know stuff like that.
This is just an idea I had, you like it lets rock n’ roll you don’t, I’m not trolling. I put a lot of thoughts into this.
If I see a mount on the shop that I think is cool and would actually use it, I’ll just buy it. I don’t need to pay an extra $10 per month forever for a bunch of crap mounts I’d never touch.
I only suggested this idea and I’m taking it very slow at inception is for the fact that it would provide a way for players to obtain these dormant mounts that would be near impossible to obtain now. Say I’m a pvp player and I missed 2 pvp seasons in wod and don’t have 2 mounts for those 2 seasons, bam 2 subs and I can get those 2 mounts in 2 months sub. Another example I can think of is say I missed out on AOTC mount for HFC mount, bam 1 month sub and I can get it.
These are only 2 examples to illustrate and I can think of way more. I can see the hesitation on your end that’s why I’m saying take it slow and implement this idea for only classic, BC and WOTLK only at first. And for sure keep everything current as is unchanged that way you are not forcing anything on anyone.

I do not think it is right, nor fair of you, to submit such an idea solely because you want a mount from a limited time event, thus cheapening the work I put in to get it
I’ll be honest, I have a few of the AotC mounts, my general stance is I don’t mind if a new way to get them is introduced given some effort goes into it…just paying a sub for it though would be mildly annoying.
Most didn’t put work into getting those mounts. They used Perky Pugs or the Friendship groups to acquire it.
That being said, I’m sure it’ll be in Lemix. There’s no reason to revamp the sub model we have now for something so nonsensical as whatever the OP tossed out.
Friendship Moose groups weren’t “a negative thing.” And I did specifically say that the OP’s idea was dumb.
We’ll end up with access to removed items through the Trading Post or Remixes as time goes on. Not Challenge Mode stuff, but these limited time things will most likely return in that manner.
What if I’m a new player or joined wow decade after it was released, why can’t I enjoy old mounts like a veteran player does? What if I took a season or two off and missed out on a mount or two, why can’t I have them now??
I’m not trying to sound rude or anything but it’s not fair to players like me either. This idea will fill this gap and provide a way to obtain these near impossible or impossible in some cases mounts and it’s a win win for all.
I’d say advocate for a new in game method of unlocking them not just paying a bit extra on your monthly sub, at that point may as well just have them on the shop.
There’s seven thousand other mounts, pets and transmogs in this game. The few that are removed are not the breaking point for someone starting this game. Please stop hiding behind “new player” as a poor excuse.
