You like that side of it, I don’t. I respect that part of it and some like it which works for them. This is why I want the customization option in the barber shop.
It doesn’t fit the class for a lot of people. Maybe some of the voodoo/witch doctor troll stuff, which is part of warcraft shaman lore that I’m not into. I’m much more into the tribal/native ancestor feel of the Tauren/High-mountain Tauren, the “barbarian”, “bestial”, “nomadic” aesthetic of the orcs and the tide sages of the Kul Tiran.
I’m not disregarding anything. You can’t disregard a silent majority that you assume all like the form and assume exists. Talk about a terrible argument.
What I am not going to disregard is what my eyes are telling me, which is that the overwhelmingly popular opinion here, on Reddit, and on wowhead is that the form sucks. Disregarding that would be delusional.
Again. People will disagree with negative feedback if they hold a differing opinion.
They put in a lot of effort for druid forms but hardly anything for other classes. Heck, the spectral lupine glyph has had a broken animation for a month+. Blizzard can put a little more effort into character design.
You are definitely closeted in your understanding of things.
You listed echo chambers where the vast majority are going to use the platform for the same reason you are. *Ask yourself, who would be using these the most? People who are similar to you. Thus, echo chamber. I don’t watch sports but see entire stadiums full of people. I don’t get it and you’d be hard pressed to find a single person in that audience who doesn’t like sports. I would never go there to garner sympathy to stop watching sports. It’s the same for those outlets: Especially if you are using tailored subreddits or whatever they are called (I don’t use reddit either, gasp).
I’m an outlier. I’ve been playing for going on 20 years, and I guarantee I don’t have the same post count as your current toon even across all my toons that have posted.
Then there are people like my wife, brother, multiple friends…that don’t even browse a sub, forum, or anything for this game.
To assume everyone is going to use the same outlets as you is honestly a show of how narrow you want your vision to be, and I don’t care to engage with you anymore.
Ciao.
(Still doesn’t get the point down below: This isn’t about liked/not liked - it’s about assumptions and the fact that a vast majority of the players impacted will never engage in a conversation about it. Most of us don’t spend all day on our phones and browsers - I only do this when work is slow, which is today.)
That’s what I’m saying, 100% agree. Druid has glyphs and barbershop for it’s animal forms, no? You could settle this, and everyone could be satisfied(besides the true cynics lol). Doesn’t have to be all in one go either. Just introduce new glyphs or barbershop options over time.
Except these platforms aren’t echo chambers at all. There are constant disagreements and arguments about things.
Bottom line, if you’re going to make the assumption that a majority of players actually like these new forms, you need something to back up that claim.
You can look at threads for all the other visual changes including the updated animations for the covenant abilities, the new lava burst, any of them. It’s not an echo chamber. People say how they feel about them.
That’s an interesting narrative you’ve created in your head.
The reality is that pretty much everyone you talk to outside of the forums also thinks they look goofy; whether it’s guild chat, class discords, twitch chat, YouTube, etc.
The animations for melee are also so bad that it makes me think they must be placeholders.
U know even tho i have a two shamans and i know mt troll shaman would love this spooky voodoo version i still wished we got something more normal.
Id take this as a glyph and have the standard version be an enlarged version of ourselves with flaming arms for elemental, water tide arms for resto and wind circling our arms for enhance.
Blizz should put in more effort on cosmetic glyphs this is good for trolls but having other options is cool too
Its called silent majority.
The forums are often nothing more than the whiners living in their echo chamber.
I sell around 100k items a year on various platforms. I get about 1k reviews a year. A majority of consumers will never leave a review, good or bad. Same with this.
Also, an opinion doesnt need to be validated. Someone can like something and not give a crap about your opinion to “convince” you.
With that being said, these models are ehh… the enhance one is cool, and i like the updated cast animations for all, but that hair on eles is meh
This is an L take, just because you dont see a majority of reviews doesnt mean you are not still getting actionable feedback. Good companies see more good reviews, bad companies see more bad reviews. Same with products offered by a company. It is fairly simple.
If the forms were good you would, like other positive changes that the community liked, see posts excited about it. ESPECIALLY a graphical change. The feedback is fairly consistently negative to “meh”
If the forms looked good and someone made a thread calling them garbage, people would chime in to give their feedback. It’s painfully obvious the majority dislike these forms given actual evidence but the “silent majority” theorists can think whatever.
