New setting in graphics: Nvidia Reflex...wut?

What is this? this the new fad for the RTX 40 series only ?

Under Graphics Settings in WoW there is a new option to enable Nvidia Reflex

Built In
Nivida Reflex
Nvidia Reflex with boost…

it essentially helps to deal with input lag. reflex was originally released along side the 30 series cards however it was upto the games to implement the feature

Reflex should improve latency on anything from the GTX 900 series onwards, although higher-end cards like the RTX 30 / 40 series will see better performance.

Ooh, will try this out on my 3060.

Is there something I need to enable in the Nvidia control panel as well?

should just be the ingame options and then reboot wow, the setting should do the rest and enable it

Thank you for the info.

I don’t think I have a lot of input lag. More of just stutter since pre patch. Hoping it’s fixed.

Will try this setting for sure

cauldn’t tell the difference on my 4090. only thing i noticed was a 50W increase in power for +boost.

What’s the +boost even do?

Why does Blizz not even explain this stuff?

wonder if they will show some sorta benchmarks

Thank goodness can put our 30 series to use still. Feature is supposed to eliminate input lag, hopeful it does, have seen youtube video of it being on ingame options menu.

Maybe I’m overlooking it somehow but I have a 3060 Ti and I’m not seeing this option.

If you look at the frametime/etc with reflex, reflex+boost, you won’t notice anything.
The only thing with +boost, it will always force the GPU to run at max load, which in my case my 4090 adds a +30W~…for visually no difference, and 0 responsiveness improvements.

This will be great if they add DLSS3 to WoW, as that will…remove the huge CPU bottleneck we have in this game, but until then, just use reflex…if you really want.

Because they throw stuff in before they even understand how to use it.

Hogwarts Legacy is the first game I bought that actually uses DLSS and it looks amazing for what the tech actually does. It renders about 60% of the original pixels and guesses what the other pixels are supposed to look like.

I turned on Nvidia Reflex with Boost and noticed that things are running smoother on my poor internet connection.

To not be confused DLSS3 doesn’t do what DLSS1/2 does, 3 just adds Frame Generation and can work without DLSS2 enabled. All it does is insert a fake frame between, this allows to offload a lot of the CPU, which why games like Flight Sim see dramatic increase.

Zomg! In 10.1 reflex+boost is a huge FPS hit

it’s been there for me for the past 2 weeks or so. Nothing new. 4090 here.

Yea Reflex helps with input latency. It’s not DLSS, so don’t get confused with that.
