So, I got my 4 piece for the new set Embersage’s Guidance, and with the 4 piece I am supposed to deal 10% of all of my damage i deal as fire to my enemies. After clearing my first mythic with the set and looking at the details, Burning Frenzy, (the dot) appears to be doing a grand whopping total of 2% of my damage. I was sure to use feral frenzy when engaging in big packs, and immediately do as much AOE damage as possible.
It seems like the debuff is only applied to your target maybe?
Not much of a 4 piece as is.
Edit: So, i just went to the “cleave” dummies and i see the debuff on all the mobs, its just doing less damage than my trinket. If its such a small “bonus” why even bother, it doesn’t feel powerful at all. The only thing you notice is that you can click feral frenzy twice as much.
Does that damage only apply to your selected target?
Sim’d a possible two and two and I would have lost 9-10k damage switching from my season two 4 piece bonus. And that’s with around a combined 40 iLvl increase on the the two new tier set pieces.
Based on what I am seeing only on your selected target. Pretty non-impacting set overall, its worse than a trinket.

I simmed a 2pc / 2pc with 463,473(?) Of the new tier and it was a 7k loss on single target, but 3k gain in dungeon slice.
I opted to take a 2/5 hero crit mast ring since it was good for both, and I have been raiding more lately.
In M+ I’m working my butt off to still be blasted by DHs and Outlaw rogues in aoe. I miss aoe being our shtick. I can hold my own on single target, but the ramp on our aoe seems excessive compared to any other spec. If the new tier is not actually helping much, it’s going to be another slog of a season as feral. May have to join the dark side and dust off my DH…
