New servers please respond

There have been blue responses to other posts, yet complete silence to all of the posts asking for new servers since the announcement that this isn’t going to happen. One of these threads has nearly 3,000 comments. As such, I am asking for this as well in my own post.

I started on Maiev after raiding through classic, when BC was released, as I wanted to start fresh, or as fresh as I could back in the day. I think the experience of being able to start over, just as was the experience when classic was released, is the only way to play a new game. I know that Blizzard, being the old money that it is, seeking to further monetize off of those who are at the whims of their decisions, wants to tighten their wringing of the pockets of those who pay them and their shareholders.

The same goes for those players who have played relentlessly through classic, such that they may now start BC with a huge gold and thus game advantage over other players. Let those who have achieved what they have achieved play with each other, but, as someone who likes to PvP and will have to work towards basic flying, I don’t see anything great in me getting my regular flying amongst people who have enough accrued to buy -epic- flying, as well as buy everything else they will need to further excel beyond everyone else through at least phase 1, if not beyond. Just as the game reminds us, “everything in moderation, even World of Warcraft,” we should be given this as an option in starting our journey into Outland. And not compete directly against those who have not played in moderation.

This is about being able to have an experience, just as I did with the classic release, just as I did with both the
vanilla and TBC original releases back in the day. Just as all of us who have spoken out about this have expressed.

Ignoring posts asking for this is so greedy, disrespectful, and out of line with the reasoning Blizzard has given for providing these games in the first place. Private servers were forced to shut down because they don’t cater to the original spirit of the game, yet this is being undermined by the current vision of TBC classic release in not offering this. This is -so- hypocritical. I hate hypocrisy. Please, look inward, look at the posts asking for this, stop looking at your already exorbitant bank accounts, and do what needs to be done.

Give us new servers. Thanks.

Much love from,

A player who played vanilla until Cataclysm. And now classic and will be playing TBC Classic.

Blizzard did explain, it just may not be the answer you wanted. At classic launch, there were so many people that they created a bunch of new servers and a lot of those servers, ended up being low population. They said don’t plan on releasing new servers until those get filled up too. It’s likely that a ton of people will come back for TBC and then leave after a phase or two, so if they create a bunch of new servers, they’ll just end up with twice as many low population servers and people complaining about population issues on them. This isn’t 2007 where there was steady subscriber growth, you’re going to see a flood of players at launch and then a slow drain.

Personally, I play on a low pop classic server. I’ve watched the population go from healthy to pretty low and we could some more life in TBC. We are already seeing people reroll here for TBC and I’m hoping we’ll be medium population again. Personally, I agree with Blizzard’s approach, if Blizzard makes fresh servers, people will go there instead of to ours and it will languish in low pop.

They almost assuredly will. They just aren’t announcing any. When half the current realms have 12 hour queue times and need to be layered 10x more aggressively than Classic (because everyone will be in 2 zones instead of 20 zones) they will 100% release some new servers.

BUT this doesn’t give anyone enough heads up to organize or plan anything. Also, I doubt they’ll lock these new servers from the 58 boosts or transfers. Hell, they may even offer free transfers TO them from high population realms.

So how fresh will they be, really?

There has already been an announcement. No new servers at launch, it is something they will look at in the future.

Take that as your answer unless something changes.

To be fair, they also said “No Classic WoW. Ever.” for about 10 years. It was comically referred to as “The Wall of No” here for years.

Activi$ion likes their money so you will eventually get a fresh server.

I see your post all the time complaining about the greedy Activision. If it bothers you so much why are you still paying them monthly?

I believe you are here to complain solely for the sake of complaining.

Fair. Thanks for your input. <3

Lol.

I needed a good laugh before I went to sleep.

<3 glad to provide fan service for you.

Umad bro? Or are you just one of those people who incessantly complain about people complaining. Either way, pot, kettle.

There is NO NEED for new realms as long as current ones have plenty of space. Since they are also making 2 versions of each realm… the population will be even further divided so if anything we’ll need merges, not more realms.

Thank you for that confirmation. You clearly are here just to complain.

Now I know how to categorize all of your comments.

I appreciate your perspective. Thanks. I think it ignores some of the points I made in my post, but, everything you have said is valid and I respect it. I don’t think this line of reasoning is where Blizzard (Activision) is coming from, though. Much <3

You seem a little to obsessed with me that you categorize my comments. I don’t know if I should be flattered or worried that you are being creepy af.

It’s not about space. It’s about economy and progression. People want fresh servers so that they’re not going through the Dark Portal with people with 100,000g in their bags, buying epic flight day 1 and ruining the economy like they have with Classic. People want to walk through the Dark Portal and do HFP quests and not get ganked or have to compete with full Naxx geared people while they’re in leveling greens.

Obviously, even a fresh server would get bots and gold selling eventually. But fresh servers would be locked to transfers and boosts, so it would take a hot minute for the bots / sellers to ramp up and make for a significantly better first few months of TBC. Everyone would be on equal footing. New communities could form. People want fresh for the reset, not because they’re worried about overpopulated realms. Are you myopic or are you arguing in bad faith?

This exactly. Thanks. Much <3.

As far as Blizzard is concerned; it is ALL about space, not progression or economy, and this is logical. Making excessive realms without enough players to fill them out is not logical.
