New Servers idea (Retro/Premium)

no it isnt??? lol

one person making a post on the forums isn’t “people” its person lol.

I would play this over current retail WoW to be honest. The Story mode dungeons are fun to be honest, if the AI group members kept up with scaling difficulty, I would be all in.

Why would people pay more to have less content?

This already exists by pushing higher keys.

Blizzard said back in the day that “people think they want a classic server but they really don’t” That was my point. Just because you don’t like the idea doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be successful. Blizzard was way wrong when they made those statements at Blizzcon and because they changed, they kept their reign as the #1 MMO.

This is a really roundabout method to ask Holly to play Classic with you.

Could have probably done without…whatever madness the rest of your post contains.

You don’t have to do M+. You don’t want to do it? Don’t. I didn’t and I can’t say I’m worse for it.

okay? but that isnt a “we’re never going to do that”.

youre not answering any of my questions and are just saying random things.

Nobody does want a classic server. That’s why they keep rebooting it, in hopes that “new” old content will bring people back, because players would rather do anything than play Classic long-term.

It’s part of the “Welcome Please Read” pinned post.

Also: your ideas are not healthy for the playerbase or game.

That’s what this game needs, more versions of WoW with like the other 4 we already have.

Okay, but making a server where you remove the BIS isn’t doing anything you can’t already achieve. If you want a community that doesn’t M+ but does Raid, make one. Join one. They do exist.

Because it takes a little extra dev time to ensure patches work with these server types.

Going up a rank in Mythic + after a certain point doesn’t provide multiple new mechanics, it just makes things hit harder/take less damage/etc. I am talking about adding more depth to the system for Mythic + players because live servers have to include all player types in the Devs decision making. They can’t make Mythic + to insane because they will lose their Mythic + casual players and toe dippers.

Why would anybody pay an extra 20 dollars for a server which isn’t shared with every other server in the game, and offers actually nothing new that can’t be accomplished by one of the following:
Not running M+
Pushing higher in M+

Hey, Holly. Since you’re reading this thread, let’s get a drink this Friday. You should wear that top I really like, you know the one

That’s funny

I read like the first sentence and realize this was the stupidest thing I’ve read in a while

Except again…while I could play with like minding players, it doesn’t change the competitive aspect for it. Also you are talking about finding a smaller niche of players per server, where I am talking about giving a home to all those players to thrive together and bringing players back who are SCARED of retail WoW.

Coming back to WoW now to be a “raider” requires tons of addons (guild requirements), learning your class, learning Mythic + routes. Memorizing dungeon and raid boss mechanics. It’s too much. Sure, people who have been playing are use to it but those who haven’t played in many expansions get turned off because how overwhelming it can be.

I did come back and raid in current tier and its a lot if you have skipped expansions.

This server would also be default allow older players to get back into the swing of things. Without feeling overwhelmed. If they end up loving retail wow but find themselves itching to pushing Mythic + harder because the retro server with Mythic + disable is not challenging enough, they can transfer off and go get that experience on all the other servers.

This server can have benefits in multiple ways.

Neither does making a server for it.

Look at Open queue vs Role Lock for Overwatch.

You think there’s a large population of players willing to spend an extra 20 dollars a month to not play something that they already don’t play?

But there’s no reason to have a server that blocks out M+ content when you can simply not do M+ content.

They can do this by adding more stuff at higher key levels. Again, there’s absolutely no need whatsoever for more expensive servers when you can do everything you want on live.

The same reason people would have easily paid $19.99 to play on a classic WoW server. because they don’t like current retail wow and wanted an experience, they knew they would enjoy.

Classic WoW was it’s own game. Period.

Party que systems changed WoW forever (and other factors) and WoW became something else between BC-Cata.

MoP added mythic raiding and again changed the game into something else from MoP-WOD.

Legion changed the game again with Mythic +. This was the most drastic of all changes for the endgame experience for WoW. This system is a love or hate.

I provided options for servers for the Love and the Hate versions to thrive.
