A HEALER… Yep thats right. Wouldnt it be completely wonderful if we had healers in WoW? I know I know… Some of you are very hardcore, but hear me out. Can you imagine signing up for a Mythic Key and you know, a person who could heal you came along and did just that… I know, its a novel idea…
It’ll never catch on, nobody would want that much responsibility, you’d have to give up pretty much all your dps for something that powerful, and what are you going to do in the world? Heal enemies to death?
Wow a healer? That would be as rare as a DPS that uses defensives, interrupts and actually gets out of avoidable damage! Do those exist?
Nope, rather take a 4th Dps
I think what they should do is whenever they introduce this new healer role is give them some damaging abilities so people will expect them to weave damage when there isn’t anything to heal.
I see no way it could backfire.
I find it hilarious that you actually post nonsense like this when you know you couldn’t finish a single key without a healer. I’m sorry you had a bad run today or last night and had a fail healer, I feel for you. Trust me, I’ve had my share of bad runs as well. Do you feel better slighting a role that you couldn’t do a single key without?
edit: and before we get the drivel about keys being done without healers: look at the comps, all hybrids. None have a warlock in them
I think they’re actually poking fun at how rare healers are, not complaining that they had a bad one
So we have healer then super healer basically?
Would super healer be if they heal they also deal damage when they heal?
Hold up I wouldn’t mind that.
Evaporates out of existence.
Healers are tired man. Imagine coming to a key and having a one dimensional role. Do one thing over and over and avoid mechanics. Welcome to the world of DPS. Except you’re u don’t just do that. You come you do DPS, you don’t interrupt and you don’t avoid mechanics.
Oh I’m a crybaby, maybe, but let me illustrate to you what healers have to do.
First few pulls analyze which DPS is the zugger that stands in stuff. Memorize the tanks damage intake. Track his cooldown useage. Manage mana, manage and babysit lack of interrupts. Manage and compensate for lack of dungeon knowledge in the group. Figure out on the fly how big the tank is pulling and have cool downs ready at the exact time they are needed. Memorize the damage spikes in each pack to have appropriate actions ready proactively, handle the affixes so DPS can just zug, interrupt with cc, then aside from the bars being managed to heal, do DPS. Then listen to the group crying about when they die it’s your fault.
Wtf would wanna heal right now? That’s right nobody.
Healers have ten times the responsibility and ten times the blame. That’s why I ONLY run with my normal group.
I know I don’t have to babysit them and the tank is self sustaining so I can do more outside my role with pleasure instead out of necessity.
I am sorry you didnt read the room and see I was being sarcastic.
I am pointing at the fact that honestly the majority of players do not want to heal mythic keys. Raid isnt a problem at all. But healing in higher keys is painful and I completely understand why so many refuse to do so.
See Lunar gets it…
My bad. I thought you were being one of the typical DPS in GD bad mouthing healers. I’m sorry I misunderstood.
Oh boy! Another thread about healers being oppressed!
Increase passive healer damage for every single healer things like acid rain for resto shaman, halo for priests, resto druid’s Nature’s Vigil are amazing gameplay imo, especially since I can just macro Nature’s Vigil into Flourish.
If I can just heal and help the group by doing damage on accident, that’s fantastic.
I would love to heal in groups, but not if I’m expected to DPS as well.
No worries, just sitting around today and seen at least 5 youtube videos about healers for keys being non existent. Then going to run a key or two, trying to get a trinket for Neltharus on this Warlock for Affliction. But seeing so many groups in keys, all needing healers and yea, we got one. But I understand why no one wants to do it… Its crap right now. Blizz needs to rethink how players play in 2023 and how changing up how healing is done could help.
I used to heal in groups, well either heal or tank. Then I decided to withdraw from society and live in the woods.
Don’t forget we also have to keep track of the tank cooldowns and the DPS defensive cooldowns on top of that. And even if you’re trying your best to maximize your own cooldowns to match the rest of your group’s cooldowns, sometimes your DPS will just not use defensives at all and you’ve exhausted all your cooldowns keeping them alive, watch them die with their defensives up, and then they yell all kinds of awful things at you and blame you for dying.
I think that’s what I hate the most about healing now, even if you’re doing literally everything correctly and playing at the top of your game, it doesn’t matter if your DPS aren’t helping out and as the healer you get the blame for it despite doing everything right. If I was playing a DPS and using my defensives properly and interrupting/CCing properly and doing everything right, the game feels noticeably so much more enjoyable and less stressful.
Agreed. That’s why we are peacing out this season.
I started healing more seriously in S2 of DF after a very long hiatus with the goal of getting the M+ mount.
I’ve never felt this bad at the game … I love healing with my evoker ( not this one ) but I barely run one dungeon per week, not because I don’t want to do it but because people dying left and right constantly to damn affixes and/or mechanics while I’m pumping everything I can ruins it for me.
