I don’t play much rogue, instead I mainly tank. I know it’s a problem for most rogues I play with when I chain pull; but thats necessary for the rest of the party. So if I could recommend when a rogue enters a PvE instanced zone e.g. Raids, Dungeons, or the new delves, a mastery mechanic that allows their finishers to give them a free vanish or similiar effect. This way they have the ability to play their class regardless of the tank, and it wouldn’t affect PvP.
BlizZard deems stealth and vanish too OP.
That idea might be more of a detriment for certain specs (Outlaw in particular) than helpful.
or …
just get rid of the “stealth” restriction on rotational abilities.
I think it would be more beneficial if we had abilities that would reduce the cool-down on vanish instead of just giving us one. Make SnD worth it, if SnD is active vanish cools down 50% faster. Like the shaman ability “Brimming with Life” While at full health, reincarnation cools down 75% faster. This would make SnD have another function and not so meh.
Vanish is absolutely useless when soloing anything. So having our major damage tied to it is a twisted joke.
My muscle memory says hit da button for more damage. But if I hit it when I’m soloing the boss just returns to full health and then attacks me again cause I ambushed it.
Vanish should be a cooldown with a no-attack de-buff for a few seconds afterwards to ensure it is only used as a defensive.
Shadow dance should be kept as the version of vanish that drops agro but doesn’t clear it. This way it can be used as a cooldown when soloing.
Once they do this it all works nicely.
This is how i used those abilities as well. If they are going to keep vanish as is, I think that all specs should have a DoT, and that all enemies that have the DoT on them should remain in combat until they are off. Bleed, poison, etc (Sorry i play Assassination). Minus my fan of knives all my AoE (minus poison splash damage) is centered around stealth, so dungeons, and solo play when adds appear is very difficult to handle without resetting the battle.
