New Realms Coming for WoW Classic

Do I still have a chance to reserve Thex?

I guess we know what we want ? Or do we?

Thank you! My crew and I just made the switch, Blaumeux is our new home.

Do we have a discord for the Blaumeux server?

They probably want to make sure players are actually moving off Herod.

If they increase the name reservation limit, players will keep their Herod toons while they try to grab names on other realms. Or, players might use the additional slots to reserve even more names on Herod.

Went to try to reserve my names on Blaumeux but they were already taken. Remade my characters on original server before they could get sniped. End of that story. GG WP.

I posted this reply in another thread:

If you and your guild are stuck on Herod or some other ‘full’ server and you haven’t had a discussion about moving already, I’m not sure what you’ve been waiting for.

You’ve had a week to see how crazy the population has been getting; you could have called a guild meeting and decided to move to the next (x) server that opens that fits your needs. Example: “Ok guys, the next EST PVP server that is opened is what we will take.”

You could have already discussed as a group saving names for players who may not be able to log in. You could have a text or chat tree ready for the first notification. Example: “Ok guys, Bob is going to watch for Blizz blue posts Tuesday morning until 1. Gary is going to take over and watch until 6.”

You all could have had a group chat/text so that when you get that notification, everyone could sound off on whether or not they can log in. If they can’t, their ‘name buddy’ would make a random character for them with their name; if that one isn’t available use their backup. “Ok guys, the server goes live in an hour. Cathy, Bob and Jim can’t log in at that time. Who are their name buddies? Are you ready to create a character for them?”

I mean… if you can’t get organized to do a simple login and have a system in place to save each others’ names, why are you a guild? You don’t have good communication or planning skills.

Because they didn’t come in here spouting how everyone is a bunch of idiots because they like the game a certain way and that it is all a novelty and that BfA is good when it has, based off of the current data from its duration, been shown to be a complete and utter failure with very little to offer and a serious lack of any challenge. You are the one who did all those things, You are the one who came in here to talk smack and now you can’t handle that it is being thrown back in your face. It isn’t about Us vs Them, you can like BfA all you want and you can like Classic all you want but the fact is that Classic fundementally is a better game than BfA, Legion, WoD, MoP, or Cata. Blizzard has over the years shown they are losing touch with their core fanbase in favor of the hypercasual crowd who don’t want to have to put any effort into the game.

In any other genre this wouldn’t be as big a deal except that the core concept of the MMORPG Genre is that you are rewarded for investing time. That is why killing the same boss 20 times is meaningful, you are rewarded for your effort even if you don’t get loot. Getting shiny epics is nice but if you are in a guild every single piece of loot pushes your guild that much farther up the chain toward even better gear. That is what you seem to be missing.

Vanilla and Classic aren’t just about the destination, they aren’t just about getting the best gear or being rank 14 or being known as a legend on your server. They are about the journey, the struggles and trials, the accomplishments however small or large.

You seem to have lost sight of that just like Blizzard has over the years in favor of a game that rewards you for opening a tab and clicking “find raid” and getting loot for simply being there. You might not think you have but you have and Classic is a chance for not only you to return to that but also for those who have never experienced that kind of community driven accomplishment to do so.

Farewell to them, all 30 of them.

WHY IS MY NAME AUTO TAKEN… STAHP IT.:expressionless:

I might be wrong but, but let’s say everyone Stays on for a minute. So if I’m not mistaken that would be 10000+ minutes… but obviously that’s not going to happen… again I could be wrong about how the queue works

that would make the queue 1 min

True lol. I should have said if every minute one person logs off

Speculation obviously but speculation based off my career as a software developer:

If Blizzard built layering the way that I would think they did then here are the likely facts:

Layers likely take fractions of a second to set up meaning they aren’t going to cause a queue.

Servers probably support a maximum number of layers as well as a maximum threshold of players across those layers.

This means that queues only happen when one of those two thresholds is met. Meaning queues are you waiting for players to quit playing for 5+ minutes so that they drop off the list of “currently logged in players” that I’m assuming Blizzard is going to continue to use to assist with issues such as in the event of a crash for example.

Which means 10k in queue is 10k players who all have to quit for 5+ minutes before you get in.

Even if it doesn’t kill it, it will definitely outlast it.

My secret hope is that Classic does so well that we can convince Blizzard to do an alternate timeline situation and create new raids just for classic post Naxx, maybe Diversified Tier gear so that every spec has a tier set that is decent to play with as level 60s

You are correct. Many of them are already crying for the easy mode they are used to. They won’t like having to work for the rewards.
