How can you merge? No one will want to name change due to multuple same names…
Blame You and Scram
It’s like they’re not even trying
Grobb is RP-PvP…so hopefully the more PVP minded folks that are not interested in RP check out these new realms.
So glad to see new realms opening up!
LOL! You want people to switch to new servers…but keep choosing horrible server names.
Ok…i actually am in complete agreement here. garbage names.
It’s not that hard to get to level 10. I played for a few hours on the stress test and got to 8.
because they don’t want to have a server delayed resulting in more servers getting ‘over full populations’ like Harod. as servers fill up they release new ones. Your group did not prepare over the past weekend and plan that if a new server is released you would move en-mass? that’s your issue not Blizzards. you could have forseen that a new server was going to be released and planed on moving long before it was announced. and if 6 hours is not enough time well not sure what to tell you except make plans now for the next server announcement, but that may be after launch starts and this recent batch of servers finally fills up.
the hype is real…let’s see how many last once they understand the grind required.
I think a majority of the player-base already know it is going to be a grind. So this whole “it’s only nostalgia, people don’t remember how bad it was” argument is getting kinda dated.
Don’t see 30 yet, but all the speculation about this “drop off” is even funnier.
Is it too late to change the server names after announcing them? Is that even legal?
They’re not trying to come up with good or iconic names, they’re just going down a list it seems.
There’s nothing wrong with expecting Blizzard to wait 24 hours to make a new server so people can coordinate. It’s not really that big of an expectation.
It’s just upsetting to see Europe get all the cool Molten Core / Blackwing Lair names, while we have to settle for a level 30 dungeon.
I mean I don’t see how Skeram couldn’t become Iconic. A name is just a name until something puts meaning behind it. Illidan didn’t start out as an infamous server on day 1, it earned its title.
Agreed. I remember how bad EQ was, and WoW is easy peasy in comparison.
sorry to tell you 10k is an approximate of what I saw the day of reservation. Launch day we are looking at a queue of 30k+ on herod.
10K for me was like a 6 minute wait so don’t worry, layering should help
? Illidan was one of the most popular characters in WarCraft 3. It was already predetermined to be an over-crowded server.
so herod is till 10k queue even with stalagg on high?
jeepers creepers
I feel obligated to put that last point to rest, I think most people don’t understand how layering probably works. I’m a software developer and based on my experience working with server architecture my thought on how layering is handled by the servers would likely mean setting up a layer takes fractions of a second worth of time. That also means queues don’t exist if a maximum layer count hasn’t already been hit. Meaning if you see a queue the server is at max layers and you are waiting on players not layers. At least based off how I would have built it given current day server architecture and best practices. So yes layering will help but only till a server has the maximum number it can handle already created, then you get a queue.
