If you advertised in the Trade chat channel for your realm, then only players from your realm (or your connected realms) would have seen the chat.
However, if you advertised in any of the other channels, then that would be seen by any players in your connection as well as any in your CRZ (which you cannot trade with).
I have 5 realms in my connection, I have no issues trading with them, mailing them, or joining guilds. I have characters scattered throughout my connection and they are all able to function the same as if they were all on the same realm.
If you see (*)
after their realm name when looking at the character, then that signifies that they are part of your CRZ and not part of your connected realm cluster.

Already left my old first/main server b/c it died. Not moving back
Oof, I loved the isolation on quiet realms like Earthen Ring, though. I was able to obtain rares and tame rare pets more easily. Iâll miss those days.

more like people keep migrating to the high pop realms and be fore you know it the servers wonât be able to handle everyone at the start of the expansion. and rumor has it we should be getting one of those this year. ;D
but a more populated realm has better (lower) prices for goods are there is more supply. in fact, in some cases basic things are actually in stock.
a few times i have gone on one of my character and seen no flasks. no potions⌠maybe it was just an AH hiccup but those sort of things shouldnât run out or be in an amount (quantity) someone could easily buy out.

Letâs say theyâre looking at 4 medium-pop servers. Two are Alliance-heavy, and two are Horde-heavy.
If they connect the 2 Alliance-heavy servers with each other, and the two Horde-heavy serveres with each other, you now have a high Horde pop and a high Alliance pop, and all those people now have a MUCH better play experience.
If they connect the Horde & Alliance servers to the opposite-faction server, then NONE of that large majority of players see any improvement whatsover. The only benefit is to the stragglers, who go from a miserable play experience to BAD play experience.
Isnât it better to offer a GOOD play experience to the majorities, rather than a BAD play experience to a small number?
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
Or the one.

I do not believe they will be renaming the servers. I am currently on Llane and it is connected to Arygos. Soo, I have toons on both who are in the same guild.

Hope itâs big, and hope you have a good in game indicator of who youâre connected to

I hope Twisting Nether & Ravenhold gets some love⌠would love to be with ED⌠but really right now its utterly dead.
Objectively? Sure.
But after connecting the lopsided servers into bigger lopsided servers, a bunch of the underdogs come to the forums to complain about how Blizzard ruined their realms. The majority populations, being happy with the change, will be less likely to come to the forums (since they have nothing to complain about), meaning the visible feedback will be largely negative.
Next thing you know thereâs a bunch of â[insert faction] bias!111â threads, and a bunch of tinfoil-hattery about a conspiracy sell faction changes.

interactions with the economy around you
Right now due to the existing âcross realmâ concept within places like Nazjatar, smaller servers have a hard time supporting themselves because other servers are actually taking the resources available. Is this intended to be solved with these changes as well?
Itâs hard to get things available when you share those resources with other servers, and âmerging serversâ doesnât fix that if you still share the resources with high pop realms.

No this is connecting servers⌠each server retains it name.

Is it only the low realms? Or are the mediums slated to be hit as well?
There arenât going to be less servers. They are connecting NOT merging.

In the middle of this pandemic where an awful lot of people were kept at home?
Not likely. Both classic and retail have likely seen a significant spike. Itâll drop off now in this quarter as various states and countries slowly revert the covid restrictions⌠but the gameâs population for both classic and retail likely saw a boost.

I understand that.
Again this is Blizzards way of merging that players have asked for, for years now.
But you arenât merging, you are connecting. Those servers that are connected will indeed share resources, but they will also share the same AH. So if those resources end up being auctioned, then you will be able to purchase them.
Of course, you might still have to contend with the servers that are only in your CRZ and not connected to you. Not sure how the CRZ parameters will change, it they do at all.
