They could but I don’t see the issue with that. RWF guilds do splits, this alleviates that (but doesn’t solve it.) Warbound gear is bound to champ track thus inferior.
If that was the case then Blizzard should tell us it’s a feature and not a bug so the rest of us can also enjoy using this easy method to gear. Until they do though I’ll assume its an exploit/oversight.
Welp, maybe this is why there is an emergency maintenance this morning.
Blizzard has a history of letting people exploit and then shutting it down for the rest of the player base while letting the exploiters keep their gains

How can anyone watch RWF teams knowing the only reason they are ahead is because they cheated?
Where’s the fun and entertainment in that?
Why not just declare a winner before it even starts then you can watch the teams do ads for the gaming hardware sponsors and sell you t-shirts?
edit: also knowingly abusing a game bug IS against the rules and actionable.
Yep, people are exploiting raid personal loot.
Yet more reasons it was removed.
Boss drops warbound loot.
People are using warbound loot.
Does not seem like an exploit.
Warbound coded as an exception to normal boss loot is a perfectly reasonable explanation.

“Uuuh they got a 4 day warning shot for the rep exploit, so clearly it will have severe consequences now!!” is a take I’ve read several times regarding this topic.
Maybe there will be a rollback but I doubt there’ll be more serious consequences. Blizzard has never been consistent with how they punish exploits and I don’t think they’ll actually ban the RWF participants. The RWF is free advertisement for them and I bet they will be hesitant again to actually do something about this issue.
Like they would ever ban RWF raiders for any length of time lol. They rely too much on the hype and streaming exposure. This is why they exploit whenever they can, they know there is no real consequence for doing so.
Personally, I think if you exploit a bug, you should get a lengthy ban. All of these players are smart of know it’s in fact bug and not intended, pleading ignorance is not a justifiable excuse.
nobody said they weren’t good. but theirs tiers within tiers.
you got the top 100 or so | guilds that finish the mythic but usually a few months in | guilds that will never clear even with attempts. usually making it past boss 5 but not much further. | and the rest of us plebs who likely just enjoy heroic for raidings sake and aren’t as competative.
Even with each of those you’ll have kind of mini tiers. . . the top 100 are still very skilled and very good. but can they realistically compete with the top 3-5? not really. Even if you removed all of the extra resources that liquid and echo generate from their fanbase, and splits. they would still beat anything under rank 3-4. those resources are more to compete the other top 3-5. who also would likely still beat most of those under them without extra resources
kind of like an edge within an already extremely skilled group of players.
I love F1, world super bike, formula extreme, GP, and many other high end racing sports.
so when it comes to racing I do understand the skills and team efforts involved.
Doesn’t mean any of them should be allowed to cheat to have an advantage.
and yes, many times a no-name team with a no-name rider/driver came from behind to win given the opportunity.
In WoW there are many skilled players that could compete for world first.
They don’t deserve to cheated against so they have no chance tho.
Excessive if they plan to rollbacks, especially if people catch strays by accident. I used to PUG multiple boss kills in the same week to try and improve parses for applying to guilds.
Looting something like a mining node twice randomly one time or even a couple times is not exploiting a bug to the point of reprimand whatsoever. Creating an entire raid to continuously farm a raid bug is abusing an exploit lol.

Exploit early/Exploit often leads to bans of 3-6 days for minor offenders and permanent bans for heavy exploiters.
They grade you on a sliding scale and will permanently ban you if they notice you trying to stay under the radar on future exploits.

There are warbound token drops from the raid.

Haha. All of the advertisement spammers going to get caught up in this. There is no way they aren’t taking the tokens. I think these should be lifetime suspensions.
Yes, I believe some of the streamers for the world first race have shown this happen in stream, no idea if it’s intentional for tier to be dropping as warbound or not thought.
Should hard ban everyone who did this btw. Never in this games history has this been ok
