Our dps increase from Blood fury is nice. But most sources say troll is the best. That orc is way below trolls on simmed dps for races.
At least the last time I looked. And again that is simmed fights.
And bringing up races I wish that dark iron had been a horde dwarf. I was hoping for that. I think each faction should have their version of the other like horde getting dwarfs and allince getting orcs.
Shared races are ok but each faction should have their own version the races.
I do not believe that shaman is a class humans should already be able to play.
But then why say
What are you basing this on?
Goblin is one of the highest dps racials for shaman (both ele and enh) along with having a great utility option in rocket jump.
Shamanism is not about nature.
Orc is one of the worst.
Tauren and Goblin are typically the two top.
But the dps aspect of racials is so minor, that the utility is what matters for most if you are min/maxing. Which Tauren and Goblin are good for as well.
But ultimately, if you arent a dwarf it doesnt really matter with racials for PVE content.
Because it’s to your point of not making Human Shaman playable because it would mean more people would role the most played races, it wouldn’t. Dwarf would still be the clear choice for people choosing their race based on performance alone.
16% of Horde Shamans are Orc. 6% are Goblin. Even if Goblin is better, I think this is an example that counters your previous point about not making Human Shamans because people would be incentivized to play it based on it’s viability or min maxing. If Goblin is truly the best option, why then are there so few Goblin Shamans compared to Orc? Do you think it might have something to do with people not wanting to be a Goblin, because of being 3ft tall and their model and the fact you can barely see their transmog? That’s entirely my point about the Alliance options for Shaman.
Shamanism is absolutely about nature but not the natural force of the forest (Druid) but rather the natural force of Azeroth. Here’s the literal description from Blizzard regarding Elemental Shaman on the official website “A spellcaster who harnesses the destructive forces of nature and the elements. Preferred Weapon: Mace, Dagger, and Shield”.
Exactly, so why does it concern you for Human to be Shaman? Sounds like it wouldn’t change much for you other than you seeing something you don’t like that was someone else’s choice in a game that’s literally all about personal choice.
With all due respect, there’s always at least one person such as yourself on these forums that is far more concerned with their personal opinion on the matter and not wanting others to have something simply because they themselves do not want it. So far you haven’t made any tangible points as to a legit reason Human should not be Shaman. Sounds more like it just bothers you.
Others on this forum post have made points that actually factor in, such as the time it would take to do and the quests needed to explain it or the developers needing to spend resources developing totems etc. But all of the points you are making seem to be rooted only in personal bias.
To which I ask you, why do you care enough to make such descriptive posts that only aid to stopping other people from getting what they want at zero cause or effect to yourself? Me being a Human Shaman won’t stop you from playing a Goblin Shaman.
I have to agree that at this point it makes no sense for most race and class combos to not exist, outside of the obvious ones like Evoker that are specific to a singular race.
Blizzard themselves said they are working on making all races all classes (minus DH/Evoker) because it just makes sense at this point in terms of personal option. As OP said above it’s a shame that they shelved continuing that because I myself was really looking forward to Orc Paladin and many others I know were very excited about having the new options.
It’s so weird to me how so many people think a “lore justification” means that an entire society / culture of people has to have historic interests in a particular class, and it can’t just be “because this particular character wanted to learn <class.>”
A bunch of races could be Monks in MoP, despite them almost certainly never having met a Pandaren before. Chi was a foreign concept, and there’s significant cultural differences between Pandaren and most races, but I never saw anyone this critical of Orc Monks in MoP.
Player preference for race is highly concentrated on a few races for both factions. Is seeing a Gnome Shaman in the sea of Dwarf / Dark Iron Shaman really going to break your immersion? Delas Moonfang, a Night Elf Holy Paladin already exists. Why can a Night Elf NPC decide to follow the light and it be fine, but if a player wants to do it, suddenly we need major lore additions or rewrites to explain why Night Elves would abandon their more stereotypical sensibilities in favor of something else?
Idk man, I just want people to play the race/class combination they want. I think it’s silly when Korean MMOs lock classes behind gender restrictions, and I think it’s just as silly here to lock classes behind race restrictions. So many races have been allied for so long, cultural diffusion was bound to happen. Let a Human player make a Druid. Let a Blood Elf player be a Shaman.
While I agree with this… It’s too late man. Blizz gave up on this when they gave tauren rogues (plus half the other groupings they just made up lore to validate).
I’d prefer they roll back the crap but it’s not happening. So at this point human shamans make absolute sense and I’d like to see it. I don’t think I’d play one but still.
Anyways, tauren og and best shaman race… Nerf dwarf racial in PvP
At this point you are really no longer making sense. I appreciate your input and time but you are simply failing to make any discernable points. You just said Shaman has nothing to do with nature, saw a quote from Blizzard saying they harness the “powers of nature” and and are doubling down on they don’t have anything to do with nature. But judging by how you have nearly 30,000 forum posts, my guess is you frequent the forums for the sole reason of arguing with people. You do you.
