The sword you are thinking of is Quel’Delar, I think. There’s a Quel’Serrar in Wrath that drops from Onyxia, but there is no 2-handed version. Keeping this arsenal as one-handed blades only makes sense.
How does making a two-handed version not “make sense” though? Also I believe the sword we are thinking of is the temple blade, so it could probably be 2-handed as well
Okay, but its still a remake of the original sword. The “Temple Blade” isnt even the same color scheme as the original Quel’Serrar. Would it really bother you if there was a two-handed version?
I think that’s the one that I have on my Ret Paladin that started with a quest drop in the ICC area. It looks pretty much like the new vendor weapon, but is 2-handed.
I may be wrong. I completed the quest 4-5 years ago. It’s a really nice graphic, though.
I’m pretty sure that I bought the quest item for the 2-handed weapon from the AH if that helps any.
I had spent so much time there without seeing the item drop that I went ahead and bought it. The quest was actually extensive and well done. I enjoyed it.
Quel’Delar is not in fact Quel’Serrar but it’s sister blade. They got their own stories and thus no Quel’Serrar does not come in a two handed variant unlike it’s sibling
I feel like we’re forgetting that these weapons, while based on the Quels, are not the Quels. It’s not necessarily beholden to either weapon’s precedent.
I would welcome 2h options, as it would make the 200k investment usable on like twice as many characters, but I don’t know if I’d ever use 'em so it doesn’t make a difference to me.
They were both wielded by elven soldiers before they ended up where we find them…so… they’re at least elven blades. If only the hilt of quel’delar wasn’t so expensive and refusing to drop for me I’d have it already. Idk…about paying the heavy sum for glowing golden quel’serrar replicas though. I thought the other skins of that sword were going to be on the trading post not gold sinks sold by the BMAH
